The game gets considerably easier if you actually look for materials to make mods, but it don't make sense. The game should be a little hard enough to complete without a mod, but a little easier if you do it with mods.
OK so apparently you can disable voice chat now. I am a happy man.

I unplugged my mic and that's when I realized it defaulted to stereo mix
I really like new patch, also read details from steam forum.
- Possible to turn voice chat off
- The "weapon throw + backspace" replication bug is gone. You cannot throw weapon and then press backspace to replicate weapon.
- Game is running better.
- Fixed error when player had plugged in USB headphones and this caused the loud crackling. Also using the usb headphones no longer causes the game to crash to desktop. (For some users)
- Game works offline
- Intros stuttering has been fixed.
- Game recovers corrupted saves.
- Removed 30 item stack limit. You can now have for example: one stack of 400 oleander. (So possibly fixed save game corruption due to stack limit)
I just try and I see improvement. My friend just get save corrupt today, but after that the patch come and fix to able to load save, which everything is happy now. Thank you.

Relax. If somebody knew how to fix the problem you're facing, they would have told you. Plus, somebody did suggest something to you and you didn't bother to try it, instead just responding in a hostile manner and digging yourself a deeper hole.
Anyway. Have you tried updating your drivers? Verifying the game cache? Reinstalling the game?

I have the newest ATI driver, I have verified my files three times, and this isnt an installation problem, its a performance problem.

I have been to over fifteen crash fix websites, and scrolled through almost every page of this thread. I bought a copy for me and my friend to play co-op and its broken for the both of us. Broken games deserve fucking shit reviews. I contacted steam and asked them to disable the game on my account and give me my 110$ back.
I was so pissed to find out they fixed the duping glitch. I was so close to getting lvl 50, grabbing a lvl 50 Zed's and getting 100 of it for backup. I knew they'd patch it, but didn't expect it today. Now I'll have to play the game with $0 b/c I suck balls at keeping my money up w/o that glitch :[. Was fun while it lasted. Bleh.
Where are the patch notes?
I'm on act 2 of my second playthrough and it's just a bitch to keep your weapons maintained in act 1, especially because zombies give low cash/quests do too. I wish the quests ALSO kept up with your level in terms of cash(because I think weapons are leveled up with you as you go along or something..)
What bothers me is that I did a full playthrough with a friend, but none of the quests counted for my save - but in singleplayer, the weapons I find in chests are still at the level the game expects you to be at at that time. So, I'm level 28, finding level 11 weapons.

Steam only does refunds for pre-orders and on rare occasions where they feel nice.
The game isn't broken, its your fault somehow.
The game runs fairly bad for me too but I'm on a older computer. Luckily I got mine for free.
