The hills in the distance look a bit dodgy, like a load zone is needed.
The hills in the distance look a bit dodgy, like a load zone is needed.
They probably just won't be accessible.
But that lighthouse looks so cool.
But that lighthouse looks so cool.
I don't think he meant those mountains. The ones very far away. The closer ones look much more detailed. Plus I don't think they'd have a lighthouse you can't go in.

I just want to see some fucking footage of this game.
I just want to see some fucking footage of this game.
Asking this for the 100th time isn't gonna help, though I agree with you.
I just want to see some fucking footage of this game.
Know what I want? [sp]The same thing.[/sp]
This might sound like the most stupid thing ever, but from looking at the sky it looks Real time. Were you can see the lines of brightness that change from night to day ect. I suck at explaining.
OP you put Sam B's information under Logan.

This is random, but I hope there's a harpoon gun in this game in a fishing harbor somewhere or something. With this supposed mega-awesome gore system, it would be so much fun. I just love impaling things into enemies.
just gonna say i hope they have cheats because after i beat the game i wanna possibly fuck around with having infinite ammo n shite
just gonna say i hope they have cheats because after i beat the game i wanna possibly fuck around with having infinite ammo n shite
God you're a faggot for using cheats... /sarcasm.
Im a little dissappointed that its going to be "OH THE PERSON/PEOPLE YOU PLAY ARE SOMEHOW IMMUNE." the l4d and dead rising fiascos, It would be better if it was lots of survivors you could play that if they got bit, they were screwed. You face the consequences of your own actions that way and instead of just going "ive been bitten, but its cool." Id prefer a more violent or emotional response, like the trailer suggested.
OP you put Sam B's information under Logan.
Fixed. Thanks for pointing that out! :buddy:

There has to be a level of leniency, it's a game, even if its tense, it should be putting that intensity into through something else, not the idea that if you slip up once you're fucked and whatever effort went into this character is wasted now.

Infection is a big element with zombies, to remove the chance of infection is basically just turning them into lumbering stupid cannibals, which is fine and all, but cannibals are frightening for an entirely different reason to zombies, intelligence is a big part of what makes a psychotic cannibal a frightening thing and it's something zombies lack. I disagree that the one fuck up = death system isn't viable, roguelikes are testament that they do work, but that you can't just shoehorn the system into any old game.
Thats what I meant Riu, most zombie games have toned down the infection risk on your character so that it doesnt even matter anymore. Thus making the zombies less scary.
I'd like a system where if you were bit, you'd have to try and find a vaccine (like zombrex) before you slowly turn.
It should go in stages: 1 hour blurred vision. Etc.
Thats what I meant Riu, most zombie games have toned down the infection risk on your character so that it doesnt even matter anymore.
So the mindless killing machines stopping at nothing to kill you dead are less scary because, instead of becoming one, they just rip and tear at your lifeless body until you are a puddle of gory organs.
No. Instead of actually making sure you are careful around the things that basically wiped out society as we know it, you just lose a little health and may eventually die, removing most of the scare factor.
But thats the thing, they arent even that strong in conventional gaming sense, they have become obstacles torn through with even the basest of weapons and I wasnt talking conventional fighting im talking about the aftermath of a fight. Barely survive a fight, you still got a problem, thats the harrowing fact. Your going to want to avoid them even more, screw the whole "IMMA RUN IN AND KILL EVERYTHING" like in L4D, we need tactics to avoid them, Whats scarier, running in and losing some health without this mechanic , or knowing that if one hits you your pretty much fucked? EDIT: Ive chucked up a thread in which Ive structured my argument better. http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1079572-Zombies-In-Games?p=29224195#post29224195
God you're a faggot for using cheats... /sarcasm.
Says a zombie. Don't worry, I'm on the same boat, I'm dead.
Says a zombie. Don't worry, I'm on the same boat, I'm dead.
he was making fun of somone in a cod thread that started pissing on me for using cheats in zombies :v:

Best of both worlds.
I'd like a system where if you were bit, you'd have to try and find a vaccine (like zombrex) before you slowly turn.
Then in co-op someone on your team has the vaccine but he doesn't give it to you. That's what I would do.
1 hit = death isn't fun or challenging, it's just fake difficulty.
