I hope friendly npc's actually fight zombies and help you.
I really hope there was just something weird happening in that gameplay video a few posts up. There's no reason they'd go to the trouble of making the detailed damage so nice and then just remove it, right? ...right??
I get the feeling it must be some kind of censor or something, because the detailed damage stuff is still in the game according to the devs.
Why would they censor a video that's supposed to show off part of the game?
Why would they censor a video that's supposed to show off part of the game?
I dunno, it might have been par IGN's request, since it is their preview.
Wasn't there a gore edition, I wonder what it would be like in that.
Wasn't there a gore edition, I wonder what it would be like in that.
The gore edition is just a limited edition. It doesn't actually affect the games gore.

I still don't understand how this game works exactly. Is it like an RPG or a sandbox game where you can fuck around or is it like Dead Rising where you have a time limit to accomplish tasks? I've seen videos but they don't really explain the concept here.

I don't know if there's a timer on missions, though.
I think it's mostly open world, with time passing by as you complete missions. That would be nice, but I'm expecting a system like: There are 4 sections. A, B, C, and D. At the start of the game, you only have A open, you can do whatever the hell you want, but only inside Section A. After you complete X missions, B opens up, same deal. You can do whatever the hell you want, but only in A and B. etc etc
It's open world, no time limits. Maybe only certain missions where a time limit is required (say, someone is in a burning shack and you have x amount of time to save them before, well, you know, burning to death?) So I wouldn't worry about that Dead Rising hassle of a time limit.
I still can't look away from that "zombie sharks" text
Out of all the magazine interviews I read, it is open world, you can go any place from the very start, but you'll get assfucked by the high level zombies.
Fucking hell you got me excited for a few seconds dammit.
There's one for uh, Call of Juarez so a Dead Island demo isn't out of the realm of possibility.
There's one for uh, Call of Juarez so a Dead Island demo isn't out of the realm of possibility.
A+ reasoning right there.
A+ reasoning right there.
same developers and publishers i'd give it B- reasoning
A+ reasoning right there.
Your sarcasm is unwarranted.
The whole "+15xp!!" notices can be turned off, right? And the healthbars? And the levels notifications? I think I saw that but I wanted to verify. Maybe that video was a sample from a censored country's version? I don't know how to explain it.
Yes,
I suspect there will be a way to disable it if you can disable the other arcadey sort of features.

I like that idea, but not the assfucked part
It'd be stupid without the assfucked part.
Great deal on this on GMG. Might have to preorder it this Friday if it's still around.
If you guys are going to get this on GMG, can you use my refferal link? We'll both get five dollars credit if you do. www.greenmangaming.com/?gmgr=supexayo [editline]15th August 2011[/editline] Here's two codes that both grant a 20% off discount in addition to the 15%. They can only be used once per account though. SUNNY-SAVER-20PEC 20PEC-FACEB-SAVER [editline]15th August 2011[/editline] Just to let you know, you get a steam code from buying it on GMG. You also get all of the preorder benefits.
Turns out this is cheaper than getting it from ultimatum, but your link doesn't work.
Well, buying it off GMG is the same as buying it off of Steam (for this specific game) and nabs you all of the preorder bonuses. With all of the discounts, it would be about $33. I've never heard of Ultimatum before, so I don't know what it would be.
It'd be stupid without the assfucked part.
Yeah like Oblivions silly leveled enemies. Go wherever no fear of dieing.

It's supposed to redirect you to the main page. Just create an account from there and (eventually) buy the game.
