From the looks of the combat, the quick jump back and kicks seems to be a seriously effective way of dealing with a large group. Otherwise it's just back up, side step, slash. No biggie.
Any reviews released for this yet? Deciding between getting this with FHM, Driver with FHM or NHL 12. Driver has an 80 on Metacritic atm, NHL will be good as always just need to wait for Dead Island reviews.

You definitely shouldn't base if you should buy a game or not by a metascore. Buy the one that looks best to you, you can always get the second one later.

No, that's dumb. If a new game gets a really low metascore you shouldn't buy it on release date unless you just want to throw money away or you don't care. You may like it, but it's not often that 50 reviewers are wrong.

Ask friend's opinions of it after it comes out. Unless you and your friends have vastly different opinions on everything then it'd be more reliable then reviewers since opinions are opinions.
Of course the only person I know that's going to play it bought it for me, sooo that'd be kinda hard.

People have different tastes, what 50 people might not like may be something you like. Not saying they aren't right, although reviewers have been know to give higher scores to more mainstream games.

How I see it, if a reviewer gave bad scores to vastly popular games then he'd be less trusted simply because he disagreed with a lot of people.

I will probably wait until I hear some good things about the game before I get it, but since I can get it on IntKeys for 19 euro I might just pre order now.
