i cant wait to kill the shit out of little kids with golf clubs my dreams for games finally realized by poland
I love the combat system of this already. Hopefully you can change the angle and the power of the attack with your mouse by moving it to different directions.
If they make this into a proper realistic (as far as zombies go) survival rpg I will never stop playing this. I love the sound of rare weapons and stuff, and vehicles with limited fuel. I can also imagine my own little version of the island as I would like it. Small amounts of towns but alot of rural places with little shacks. WHENS THIS BEING RELEASEDDDDDDDDDDD
On a strange note, the game already has a tvtropes page, not much on it as of now. It's quite nice though as it is odd for a game that doesn't have such a large following that someone would start a page up, just a heads up so we know that we can add things to the page should more details become available.
More fucking zombies?
I hope the missions you can get from those "hubs" or whatever aren't necessary to complete the game. I hope it's something like 'Survive for X Days". But doing them should improve your odds, like sending a distress call reduces the amount of time you have to survive, gets you better gear, etc. I also hope those "hubs" aren't completely safe, so you could come back to one only to find it destroyed, or something :downs:

I still remain skeptical about this given that they've taken so long, they might have totally redone it from the ground up.
I can't stop listening to the music. So simple yet beautiful. And I really hope the dad is a playable character. He seems cool.
I can't stop listening to the music. So simple yet beautiful. And I really hope the dad is a playable character. He seems cool.
Looks like he might be, going by the silhouette on the "characters" page on the site.
Looks like he might be, going by the silhouette on the "characters" page on the site.
No, logan isn't the dad if you look in the screnshots on the website there's a tatoo'd guy in a pool with a dead female, so that's most likely Logan.
Looks like he might be, going by the silhouette on the "characters" page on the site.
Logan is in one of the screenshots and he has a tattoo and the dad doesn't. Unless they forgot to give him a tattoo in the trailer, we can say that Logan is not the dad.
Ever since games like UT 2003 first promised 'everything will react according to their physical influences' I thought: Sweet, that means I can dynamically blow baddies to pieces. But It didn't fucking happen. SoF 2 was still the game that showed the most love for fans of realistic gore goodness. But no game ever had soft body physics that allowed you to do more with your enemies than to just have them burst into pre-rendered limbs. And now, they will fucking do it? Hell yeah!
I hope there is a sandbox mode, where you just build a safehouse by finding resources and building it all together, finding food and water and perhaps random survivors. Some might even be crazy or infected.
No, logan isn't the dad if you look in the screnshots on the website there's a tatoo'd guy in a pool with a dead female, so that's most likely Logan.
Oh, okay. I never got to see the screenshots because the site is REALLY slow and I gave up.
Although the wife could be that other girl. Unlikley however.
That's too bad about the dad. He seemed cool. Though, how would he have gotten out of the room?
I just hope that the dad isn't a zombie you have to kill or a zombie at all... It would be rather sad to see him as a zombie especially that he failed to rescue his daughter which turned into a zombie and bit him...
This is basically a zombie survival sim.
This is basically a zombie survival sim.
can there be an obvious rating lets go with optimistic then
This has always been my "ideal zombie game" except mines in a Looks up to the sky... Someday.
This has always been my "ideal zombie game" except mines in a Looks up to the sky... Someday.
that made no sense
that made no sense
the "mines in a" part is the end of his idea. He basically forgot to add "..." to the end of it.
Bikini zombies Hnnnnnggg
I can't wait until the day we have graphics like those in the announcement trailer.
I doubt there will be zombie children, the trailer may just be looking for emotional impact.
I doubt there will be zombie children, the trailer may just be looking for emotional impact.
zombie children makes it more realistic, since families often go together on vacation
zombie children makes it more realistic, since families often go together on vacation
And some go on vacation to get away from their kids.
New polish article! http://www.cdaction.pl/artykul-17593/dead-island-zapowiedz.html Want me to translate best bits?
Probably mentioned before, but being able to play a couple of days before the outbreak would be awesome. Like someone mentioned in the previous thread; have it be like some sort of tutorial. Like walking around, talking to people, learn the controls of a melee "weapon" by for example playing baseball etc. It would also give the player a more emotional impact when you see people you've talked to turn into zombies. Oh, and I hope vehicles will have limited gasoline. In the sense that you have to look around to find more. Just driving around the island going "Fuck you, zombies!" doesn't sound like a lot of fun. Walking would make everything more intense.
Yeah. Like there are Gas Stations around the island and you have to defend it for a set amount of time.
http://www.cdaction.pl/artykul-17593/dead-island-zapowiedz.html With the "little" help from Google translator. Ask me if you don't understand something, the translation isn't perfect.
Dead Island - now confirmed for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, with a release date in 2011 (and therefore probably in the second half) - is, according to developers, FPP Zombie Slasher. Thus, they do great harm to the game, however. FPP is the prospect - we observe the action hero's eye perspective - and so this game is of the essence. But the "zombie slasher? It is associated with a simple, arcade butchery, meanwhile, Dead Island is a game more complex and promising much more than just chopping and crushing. I was captivated by the "lot more" - mostly a surprisingly large number of essential features of the RPG genre, and the promise of open world, which can have considerable flexibility to explore. Dead Island Action takes place on the island Banoi, modeled on the tropical paradise of south-western Asia, which suddenly appeared zombies. It comes to this island four characters of the game, among which we choose this one, which we will be guided. During the presentation we were shown Techlandzie Sam B., bit of rap superstar przygasłego - released by the studio screenshots (HERE), a bit differently than Western publishers accustomed us, conscious that the game was shown a fragment of reflection in the graphic material, however, focus on as Xian Mai, a receptionist in one of the local hotels. Two other characters are Logan and Purna, but apart from their names (and the silhouettes are available on the official website of the game), we can not reveal more about who they are. Instead, we can write that every character is a sort of "archetypal" hero RPG - Sam B., for example, a kind of "tank" a big, strong, resistant to blows, but not very fast hard disk. Each will also have their own unique skill tree, but all will be divided into skills associated with combat, survival, or rage (about her, a bit more, below). For each of these characters the story will actually fought the same way, all will begin play in the same circumstances. Not very interesting - here we wake up to attack zombies, and someone (another survivor) wants us to break baseball's head. Fortunately, the raving madman can believe that we are not zombies, so the hero can stand on its own feet and look around. It turns out that lying in the shed, which hid a few other survivors - led them here lifeguard who was on the beach and still odgania living dead. You have to help him. Out on the beach can almost immediately see the most important assets Dead Island - brutality (suddenly jumps out at us, ugly, smelly and very aggressive corpse); good combat system (you need to deal with it after deal), and the richness of the game (around are filled with items that can be raised and used for melee). The combat system, the basic setup is fairly simple - "look" on the part of the body, we want to attack and press the right trigger, and the game selects the best animation of the attack. Developers, however, think about it (they have a system right from the start of work on the title) to introduce an alternative method of deriving the attacks, in which the movement right stick while pressing the trigger point to the game will be exactly as we wanted to hit. Regardless of the setting (and whether they will actually Dead Island) battle system has a few additional nuances - for example, can be felled zombies to finish off a kick, collected objects, you can also throw. The game can also benefit from the "fury" or short-rage attack, during which we are more resistant to blows, we inflict more damage, etc. Since the "fury" devoted an entire group (one of three), skill trees, we can expect that this will be an important element of the game. The possibility of expanding the combat system introduced another mechanism to Dead Island - build their own weapons from found objects in the game world. Knife linked to an electronic clock and explosive changes in the "grenade" (which explodes after playing a tune), a baseball bat wrapped with wire hooked to the battery adds to injury obuchowych those related to electricity. Own weapons deposited in specific locations on the map, in which the hero awaits a special working table. If this seems familiar to you, then .... forget about it. Techland claimed in an interview with us that the weapon creation system is only an addition and would not even be mentioned among the features of the game (choć. .. on the official site is the among the most important "features", a high third place). Weapons can also be found in the game world, and is used to set them up well from many RPGs system "rare" - will be so znajdźki normal, rare, epic, etc. - all corresponding color coded. But surely a more important feature of the game is something completely different - the co-op. The whole Dead Island you can go in co-operation (up to four people, online only), in addition to any time you can add (or remove) from the session on the web. The only criterion is the degree of sophistication in the story, and more specifically in quest of the main axis of the script (which is to take about 25 hours of play !!!). Playing "with someone" lets go with it part of the game, which is recorded and on our account, so running it after that session, and again playing alone, we have already more advanced in history. Dead Island is, native title, for which I am waiting most of those are in production. It has everything I like in games - the openness, freedom, power, crisp content and unique atmosphere. Well, this phenomenal trailer ...
Am I cool now?
