I'm hoping they'll have some slide-back action and that magazines will actually come out of the guns when reloading this time.
The guns were brilliantly done in L.A. Noire and I would say the same about Red Dead Redemption if the Colt ejected cartridges, but if they can do the same sort of LA noire guns, then it'll be good.
(Yes I know Rockstar didn't make L.A. Noire)

The 1st trailer for GTAIV was announced March 1, 2007 and consisted of a 28 day countdown. Trailer 1 debuted March 29, 2007.
Trailer 2 was announced June 11, 2007 and debuted June 28, 2007. That's three months after trailer 1.
Six months later, trailer 3 was announced on November 28, 2007. It came out December 6, 2007.
Trailer 4 was release on March 27, 2008. Three months later.

Hopefully we'll get a detailed preview not long from now.
I don't think they have a formula for releasing games and media, it'd be different for each situation.
They might show something at the VGAs. Other than that, no way to predict how they release media since they never go to any kind of convention anywhere.

Doubt it. I'm really expecting something at the VGAs if not in the start of 2012. I really expect this in May. People say Rockstar doesn't want to fight the MP3 sales? Max Payne 3 is going to appeal to a select fanbase. It's certainly not as large as a GTA title.

People need to consider numbers and such when we want to talk about a release. Reminds me of the PC debate a few pages ago. GTA titles take longer to reach PC because they're more popular, LA Noire came fairly quick because the sales weren't anything outstanding. I'd be surprised by this point if it's not out sometime in May. The month is perfect for a Rockstar release and so many theories of the 2405 is leading to it.
