Open bridge to San Fierro DLC Open bridge to Las Venturas DLC Nitro Booster Pack. You can finally follow that GOG DAMN TRAIN CJ DLC
I hope rockstar doesn't pull out some bullshit like this they better keep things up with expansions. [editline]15th December 2011[/editline]
No he wasn't, he was by far the least likable character in the entire series. Every single thing he did in the game was completely dumb that always lead to major fuck-ups, he talked and looked like he was mentally retarded and he acted like a tough guy all the time, but when someone would point a gun at him he'd just turn "AH SHIT NO PLEASE OH MY GOD DON'T KILL ME NO PLEASE".
Gotta agree with that Tommy is way more of a bad ass than him anyway - go to 5.50 gotta love that reference
No but really, CJ wasn't the coolest guy ever, but he wasn't a bad character either. He was pretty likable to me.
lol Tommy and Claude were murderous psycopaths, CJ was like one of the first characters who didn't just take every chance to kill people. Anyway, I don't really care if the main character is likable or not - he's a character in a story not your boyfriend, they can act however they want for the sake of the story.
but then it's like a movie with a protagonist you dont like, you won't enjoy the movie as much I just think CJ was the only normal person to ever be in the series
No, but at least they shouldn't act like complete retards and douchebags all the time and should talk like normal people. You know, be a character that would be likable?
erm, if you've actually heard black people speak IRL, sometimes they speak like that. (not to be blatantly nationally-baised, but I doubt you see that many in Lithuania) I on the other hand, live near chicago.
I know how they talk, all other characters talked in a "gangsta" way, yet they didn't all sound retarded.
I honestly didn't see that much of a difference between Ryder/Sweet/Big Smoke and CJ's manner of speaking. In fact I found Ryder to be more annoying and stupid
Anything that does anything related to removing CJ out of existence is good.
I hate the gangster culture, but CJ was not that stereotypical racist gangster. Hell, I didn't even notice any racism in GTA SA. Except that little drama in San Fierro between CJ's sister and that other guy. Let's make it simple. Bring back the character selection from those first GTA games.
Hell, I didn't even notice any racism in GTA SA.
Only the normal amount of racism in a Rockstar game. Why go all about racism when we're discussing a game with many black characters?
Racism is not one-sided, buddy.
So I see 28 new posts in the User CP. New info? Nope, facepunchers bitching about something stupid.

I liked Niko the most honestly. Probably because I can identify with the shithole country he was living in. Well, at least a bit.
I kinda liked Vic Vance, he was just a simple guy who got dragged into the life of crime simply because he wanted to help his family.

Since we're all discussing III-era characters here, check out part one of a Special Edition Asked & Answers, to coincide with the GTA III 10th Anniversary mobile release! in most of the GTA games I don't see the point of the massive amounts of money given to you, when you barely spend it on stuff rather then ammo, a bit of clothing and as a fine for the police/hospital
I dont understand why you all hate CJ so much i liked him...
in most of the GTA games I don't see the point of the massive amounts of money given to you, when you barely spend it on stuff rather then ammo, a bit of clothing and as a fine for the police/hospital
Because it's not an RPG the money was really there to keep some parts of the game off-limits for the first few hours of gameplay, until you had enough money then you were free to buy whatever you wanted I think it worked fine
You both raise very good points. Even though I don't mind how money is used now, because of how GTA V is primarily money-based, I'm sure we're going to see more varied and new ways to spend money.
I don't remember much about SA, but in IV, all of your money problems ended after the bank mission. I'd love to see purchasable cars or buildings in V.
Its meant to be in Los Santos. One of the city's in San Andreas, but a bigger version
I might be wrong here, but wasn't GTA: Vice City the only GTA (or the few, haven't played all the GTAs) where you actually needed money to make further progress in the story? Since you needed the money to purchase property, which had missions you needed to complete before you could get the the last few missions.

Buying property is the perfect use for that money, or maybe customizing/importing rare cars.

It's kinda questionable how GTA fans tend to hate black gangster culture while at the same time glorifying "Mafia" culture even though it is about the same thing, the glam is in the TV series and shit.

You also needed $100k for 8-Ball in GTA III to start Bomb Da Base Act II...but I think that was it.
