Well, I said that because, apparently, the same thing happened with other GTA games (everyone got excited about something that ended up being from a cutscene)
Yeah, I see what you mean. Things like Niko on the truck, and Luis in the plane. But then we still actually got to do those things one way or another regardless of it just being limited to a cutscene.
Well, this is Rockstar we're talking about, so what you see is what you get. [...] Could just be all mission-based.
We must keep in mind that there were quite a few things which we really didn't "get". Like hiding in shadows in SA (only in the mission where you break into Madd Dogg's mansion), the non-working magnet of that one helicopter in SA, instant KO move in IV (in a mission for Vlad), hanging onto vehicles in IV (could be seen twice in an early trailer (one time a scene from the mission where you climb onto the driving truck, one time a person at a helicopter)), vehicles which were not obtainable outside of missions in EFLC (like the Skylift) and no working vehicle functions in IV and EFLC (like the Packer, Forklift or tow truck). Edit: I'm a bit late.

But you'd think they wouldn't have learned how to do all that stuff in general by now, though?
More dog national geographic (found by someone else!)
Since theres going to be domesticated animals, I hope there will be police dogs and such. Would add to the fun instead of the generic police officer/FBI/SWAT/ranger forces

When GTAIV was announced, were there any "leaked" maps posted everywhere?
Why the fuck isn't rockstar giving us any information on this game. They always do this.
The way they market. Max Payne 3 is their focus, so they're giving that all of they're attention.
Unrelated but. GTA IV MP on pc... Vanilla or Episodes? Which has most activity?

Dogs sound great, I just hope there's a way to avoid killing them if they are attacking.
Dogs sound great, I just hope there's a way to avoid killing them if they are attacking.
Yeah, that's makes complete sense. I'm happy with shooting random innocent people, and policemen, you know? But shooting a dog? That's like a war crime, compared to, say, stabbing women to death, or killing people because some guy told me to.

So, any news on the game?
Eh fuck it, you're probably right. I won't enjoy it though.
I will :v:
The only ever time I shot a dog in a video game is if it wasn't under my control, and I had to just to keep going. Animal Cruelty FTL
The only ever time I shot a dog in a video game is if it wasn't under my control, and I had to just to keep going. Animal Cruelty FTL
it's a game, why the fuck does it matter, you're killing people already anyway
GTAV canceled.
it's a game, why the fuck does it matter, you're killing people already anyway
Something about it just bothers me. It's like if there were kids and pregnant women to shoot in the game. Maybe it's because games and movies have desensitized me to seeing adults getting killed en masse but dogs are still kind of unexplored territory. You're right though, logically it shouldn't be such a big deal.
I guess people say that because the only feeling associated with dogs is happiness, you don't know any dogs that are assholes, but you know a lot of people that are. I know how you feel, and I agree with it, but it's just weird saying that you don't want to kill a dog in a game where you kill lots of innocent people.
The only ever time I shot a dog in a video game is if it wasn't under my control, and I had to just to keep going. Animal Cruelty FTL
So say in a game like Stalker or Fallout where there are actively hostile dogs that pop up at any given moment, you'll refuse to defend yourself against them and take x amount of damage purely because you think it's cruel?
I think what makes shooting dogs bad in video games is the line between "Attacking you violently" and "looking adorable innocently"
I guess people say that because the only feeling associated with dogs is happiness, you don't know any dogs that are assholes, but you know a lot of people that are. A dog is much easier to make convincing in a game than a human. Humans will have identical clothes and faces, repeat lines, do robotic things, etc. Meanwhile most dogs look so similar it doesn't seem strange for the same models to be used. Same goes for barks and the way they act.
Maybe it's late to say this, but well...Kids and animals can't be left out of the game due to cruelty, acceptableness, not-goodness, etc. Other games have done it in the past and, well, I'm just gonna say if it didn't corrupt people then, we'll be fine now. I remember killing animals and kids in Deus Ex...and Invisible War I remember shooting dogs in Call of Duty 4. I remember shooting mutated animals in STALKER. Also, I remember child/animal killing mods for Fallout and Skyrim.
Is tbogt worth the $20? I don't have a lot of money but I loved 4.
