Yes! It has some new vehicles and weapons that add more of a whacky feeling in to the world. It's a must buy for any GTA fan.

If I buy it with the DLC store can I use it with the Steam version?
If I buy it with the DLC store can I use it with the Steam version?
Yes, just buy it with the LIVE account you use for GTA IV
ok thanks. when I get some money I'll buy it.
kids in GTA is something that's never going to happen, since it's probably the most hated game by soccer moms and people like Jack Thompson, who bash games because they think they make people violent
thats why the kids in Skyrim are unkillable, too

Though it would make a pretty big publicity stunt if they start losing customers

The only game I would want killable kids to be in would be an over-the-top funny game like Saints Row. Grand Theft Auto games are extremely immersive, and I would feel guilty for accidentally hitting a kid.

That's what supports the idea to me, it's like that scene in Scarface with the carbomb. Imagine having a huge shootout in a street and finding out a stray bullet took out a young boy on his doorstep. It adds realism to it, the grittyness that exists in crime.
Rockstar says:
El Burro is referenced as he was also referenced in GTA 1, so it felt appropriate that he should cross “universes” – the “universes” are the worlds interpreted at different definitions, 2d, 3d and high definition, so we felt brands and radio / back ground characters would exist in both, but 3 dimensional characters would not. This is the logic (as far as it could be considered logical) behind it – so no, we don’t believe any GTA3 characters could exist in the GTA4 universe.
So apparently GTA is officially seperated into 3 universes, is there a reason for this? It feels like a cop out, especially when the GTA3 era characters are obviously everyone's favorites.

It's not a cop out, it's just a way to start the whole story over without having to stick old characters everywhere and referencing random stuff that happened before. The previous GTA generation wrapped the whole story up perfectly fine so there's no reason to go back to it.

It was a new start. They could keep going with the same characters forever. Notice that you never really see characters from GTA 3 in VC much, or from VC to SA. You may have loved them, but if GTA 4 came around with the same characters as before, you'd get annoyed and say thatthe old characters are boring, since you know everything about them. Rockstar has hit the perfect balance.

Well, if this was recreated by me, it wouldn't be a stray bullet... I'm thinking more like, *chatatatatata* DIE YOU STUPID KID *chatatatatatatatt*. I think I'm sick.

There were plenty of characters that appeared in several older GTAs. Remember Kent Paul? Remember Ken Rosenberg? They played pretty big roles in both Vice City and San Andreas.

I think this is right.
Though i can't imagine why it's okay to kill one type of person and not another...but what do i know, i'm not a soccer mom.
And San Andreas played a big part in GTA3's story.
CJ doesn't exist in the new GTA universe. All the CJs and Tommies and Claudes ended before GTAIV. None of those characters, at least the way they were before exist anymore. Starting with GTAIV, everything is a completely new book.
Bullshit! What about Lazlow!
He was in every GTA since Vice City!
Bullshit! What about Lazlow!

Lazlow isn't much of a character as he is a spiritual guide to what radios you should listen to in GTA (the ones that have lazlow in them)

Yes, but it was limited. I mean, in VC and III, you get that crazy construction guy, Avery Carrington or something, but they aren't too integral to the plot. Most of it is just wrapping up a story, and now the stories are wrapped up.

You can also see shoes hanging on the electricity wires, that is something that gangs do in South central when a mate got killed in a fight, they hang the shoes of the dead guy on the wire to show respect.
ok my birthday is next friday and I'll probably get a gamestop giftcard or something. I'll buy some microsoft points and then TBoGT. How active is the PC version online?

The pc version has "huge" player base..
Well, moderately big rather than huge.

Well, it's just that there's something incredibly cruel about killing young people for no reason
[editline]14th January 2012[/editline]
I think that this thing about characters from previous games not appearing in new games, most of the time, is just the GTA style. That feeling of meeting new people, in a life of crime, and you not knowing anything about them. Imagine if Vlad, that asshole from GTA IV [sp]that you end up killing[/sp] was a character from another game, that betrayed you. You'd know everything that he'd probably do, it wouldn't be fun.

I think it was crooks and cops, the gamemode where you're a criminal or a police officer, and the criminals have a VIP to escort to a destination and the cops kill the VIP. Is that on TBoGT? Is it active? By far my favorite.
Is tbogt worth the $20? I don't have a lot of money but I loved 4.
Or the GTA IV Complete Pack for $10

Yeah, I think it has some players.

Man that was so much fun. Only ever worked if the Crooks had a lot more guys because they start with Glocks and the Cops get machine guns and cars. Not very balanced.

And a fine limit at that.
Doesn't make sense to have three different time settings and locations, just to have it cluttered with the same characters over and over again.

That beginning... i recognize it... but i don't know from what...

Lazlow is actually a Sound producer for Rockstar games That's why he in all of the radio stations.
