There is speculation it may be to do with the global recession as Rockstar seem to wanna involve more real-world themes. I don't think the logo is anything to go by in regards to where it takes place, unless its in vice city in which case thats really cheap on their end.

I'd like the main character to control more like RDR as well, it felt immensely better than GTA IV in my opinion

Possibly without the bullet-time. I mean, it was good, but it was a bit silly when you could just blast a dude's head off before he grabs his gun.
I think the gunplay needs to be a bit of a mix between GTAIV's and Red Dead's.
From the logo I'm guessing it might be set in Las Venturas.
Time period, who knows. But they haven't done the 1970s and they last did the 1960s in GTA London. Which would be a nice era if it was LV.
So what are the bets the protagonist is going to get shot at the end?
I really just want a countryside and desert. Man just thinking back to San Andreas, how fun it was to go quadding and all in the country.
I don't care where they set the game, so long as they bring back the flying car cheat.
I remember flying out into the sea on a tractor, then turning off the cheat and landing at the bottom of the sea, only to abruptly teleport to some random town.
I really like the Washington idea. I wouldn't like Las Venturas too much to be honest.

The font is the same as on a dollar bill, not playing cards. But since the V is layered with the green pattern from a dollar, they may well be right anyway.
I really liked San andreas for its country areas, if its going to be based in a big city i would love to see some areas a little removed from the urban places.
