I was going to sleep more but I was too exited to so I woke up. :v:
So far not a single GTA game has disappointed me. Now when I think about it, the GTA games are probably the best games I've ever played.
Like most of you, I'm genuinely hoping for an outright trailer and a release date - I'm guessing mid-2012. Think about it; they have the engine, they've developed it well (think L.A. Noire and RDR) and they've already said that it's well underway. I think we'll see it soon.
I hope you guys realise it's probably going to be like the GTA 4 trailer.

I'm gonna take a guess and say it will be out around april or march, like gta iv was. I like rockstar's way of announcing this too (not using E3 or huge game shows as catalysts, rather letting their announcements propagate themselves)
Actually I'm keen to see what the engine looks like now.

rockstar never shows ACTUAL gameplay in their trailers, they'll show game footage but not gameplay

I'm sure I'm going to get nerfed for this, but I didn't enjoy Vice City that much. I still play GTA SA more than VC (last time I played it was when MTA:VC was out) and GTA:IV.

Judging by the previous launch trailers I'm guessing they'll be a voice over by the main character but we won't see him until closer to release

I think we'll get a bit more than a repeat of 4's trailer. I just want the trailer to give us a view of the city and new engine, some small snippet of gameplay, and the protagonist.

Doubt it'll be a new engine, updated engine maybe but hopefully they improve in the visual department a bit. GTA IV's graphics were fine, but they had terrible post processing and the lighting looked for the majority of it. That's pretty much what mods like ENB and icenhancer try to improve on.
Based on what they managed to do with red dead redemption though, i'd be surprised not to see much more realistic looking lighting

Euphoria's still in, I hope. I just hope cars damage more realistically, not that gta iv's was too bad but the bonnets crumpling the way they did...
Yeah RDR looked and played much, much better the Gta iv, and I'm guessing they've improved it since then.
The suspension is killing me.
