I want a mixture of nice urban areas with open country.
aka San Andreas.
aka San Andreas.
How about this.
San Andreas.
BUT BIGGER!
And a mountain you can throw tractors off of. That'd be nice.

Isn't there already a mountain in San Andreas?
Mt. Chilliad or something.
I found it rather funny that the newer GTA games doesn't have any Grand Theft Auto at all in it. :v:
Also: FUCK YES FINALLY WORDS CANNOT EXPLAIN MY HAPPINESS!!
I got a feeling about Israel for some reason.
I found it rather funny that the newer GTA games doesn't have and Grand Theft Auto at all in it.
WHAT.
I don't think its going to be any of the previously used cities.
So what are the bets the protagonist is going to get shot at the end?
He gets shot and falls down a manhole.
If this is a joke, I swear to god i'm gonna nuke their office
Taking bets on the location.

Why Israel?
Taking bets on the location.

The whole series is based around parodying american culture. So no.
WHAT.
Never mind, I am an idiot.
Please rate me boxes.

First the fast threads bullshit and now this? Cmon' Chickens.
I really liked San andreas for its country areas, if its going to be based in a big city i would love to see some areas a little removed from the urban places.
They were originally going to do this for GTAIV, but it was cut to put extra focus on the detail of the city.

They pretty much failed at that. I mean.. we spent half our time banging sluts and playing bowling. (ie. staying inside)
Would've been nice with some change of scenery.

Oh, and please add some color. The grey/brown palette is awful. More neon lights and Miami vibes.
That's what makes my dick hard.
Only a date for a teaser.
Take my money.
Smart money is on a Washington DC parody.
rockstar let me give you money
please, here's some money
take it

Actually if you take your time to just walk around, the city really is quite nice.
I can't name a virtual city that's as detailed as Liberty.
Oh My Fucking God, I've been waiting for this for too long. It would be awesome if GTA V were to be more interactive like Saints Row 3 is.
They should make it on Frostbite 2.
That'd be LEGEN wait for it... DARY.

I'll agree with you that it's immensely detailed, even wonderfully crafted. There's road work, beaches, skyscrapers etc. Everything you need to remind you that you're in the big city, a metropolis of the game world, the pounding heart of any capitalist state.
But I missed the soul of the previous two games, Vice City and San Andreas.
They went lengths and breadths (yes it's a word) to create a city that fulfills the theme of the time and more importantly, the gameplay and story.
Vice City actually felt like 80's Miami, filled to the brim with neon lights, beaches, huge mansions and not to forget, the movie studios. San Andreas took the gangster feel, and blended it into the game with such finesse, that I actually felt OG. What I'm trying to say is, Rockstar took a theme and created a game around this with an almost cartoony portrayal that felt lifelike and stereotypical.
The feeling I had when I played GTA IV was far from what I had expected. It matched the grim story well, and it really felt like you were an immigrant who came from nothing and has nothing to lose in the land of opportunity. But it didn't feel as fun. It took itself too seriously.
What I hope for GTA V, is for it to find it's roots. A parody of American culture and ideals, not a film noir about a Russian trying to make it big.
Though I guess some people would just make a big hole of the whole map.
Let's hope we don't have to wait a whole year for a shit PC port this time around
Then again I see no reason for them to make a whole new engine for it

True, to be honest when I purchased the PC copy for my computer, it was barely playable. I had so much lag and shit. Luckily I did have my 360 version to play it with at first. Hope it beats Saints Row 3's engine. For some reason I've always wanted GTA to be advantaged over Saints Row games.
Hopefully no cousins calling up to organise seeing some big american tee-tees.

I've always wanted people to stop forcing them into the same category when they're two completely different approaches to the open-world genre. I enjoy both games in their own ways and I hate that people try to take a side for whatever reason. They're both really fucking good at what they do.

To be fair it runs a lot better now but it took over a year for them to get it to this state. It was fucking unplayable when it first came out
