I've always wanted people to stop forcing them into the same category when they're two completely different approaches to the open-world genre. I enjoy both games in their own ways and I hate that people try to take a side for whatever reason. They're both really fucking good at what they do.
Sorry bro, but I'm still really thrilled for SR3 to come out.
Sorry bro, but I'm still really thrilled for SR3 to come out.
Me too and I like the fact neither developer is trying to out each other or cause a ruckus.
The fact that it was Saints Row 2's marketing which was making fun of the dull stuff in GTA IV kind of shows how long its been since the last (full) game...
I hope the Euphoria is more Red Dead Redemption-esc so people don't fall over when hit by paper cups

It's been three damn years since IV was released, and I haven't noticed until now. Anyway, the V in the logo gives me a gangsta vibe. Another game set in San Andreas? We'll see.

And if they decided to do the entire state again...

The V reminding me of money makes me think it might be set in Capital City (Washington DC). I wonder if that would mean getting chased by the Secret Service at 6 stars :v:
I'll agree with you that it's immensely detailed, even wonderfully crafted. There's road work, beaches, skyscrapers etc. Everything you need to remind you that you're in the big city, a metropolis of the game world, the pounding heart of any capitalist state. But I missed the soul of the previous two games, Vice City and San Andreas. They went lengths and breadths (yes it's a word) to create a city that fulfills the theme of the time and more importantly, the gameplay and story. Vice City actually felt like 80's Miami, filled to the brim with neon lights, beaches, huge mansions and not to forget, the movie studios. San Andreas took the gangster feel, and blended it into the game with such finesse, that I actually felt OG. What I'm trying to say is, Rockstar took a theme and created a game around this with an almost cartoony portrayal that felt lifelike and stereotypical. The feeling I had when I played GTA IV was far from what I had expected. It matched the grim story well, and it really felt like you were an immigrant who came from nothing and has nothing to lose in the land of opportunity. But it didn't feel as fun. It took itself too seriously. What I hope for GTA V, is for it to find it's roots. A parody of American culture and ideals, not a film noir about a Russian trying to make it big.
I love you bro.
More train following than you can handle.
And being a busta while robbing fast food restaurants.
I really hope they bring the Hydra back. The number of countless hours I wasted in San Andreas just blowing shit up with it.

PC release 1 year after the fact.
I really hope they bring the Hydra back. The number of countless hours I wasted in San Andreas just blowing shit up with it.
A Hydra was a bit over-the-top (maybe make it spawn only with a cheat?), but I'd certainly like my Dodos back. I loved flying a little plane and dodging the Area 69's missiles.
The first thing I did other than scream was: Oh god im exited
Link to the wallpaper? Trailer comes out a day after my microeconomics exam. What a wonderful reward :downs: [editline]25th October 2011[/editline] I expect San Andreas zone but in a more modern setting.
Link to the wallpaper?
It's right on the front page ffs.
Please, please get a good PC port. With lots of graphical options.
I would love them to set it in the 80's and somewhere new as well. I will be disappointed if they do Loss Angles or Liberty City again.
12:46 p.m. - Latin Geek: This game will take place in like, 2010-2011 12:46 p.m. - Latin Geek: that'll suck because we'll probably get a gay touchscreen phone and a gay all-in-one computer or some shit like that 12:46 p.m. - Jacknife: :c 12:46 p.m. - Jacknife: i want the 80's back

touchscreen
GTA V for the iphone 4?
Man, I would kill for a new GTA set in 1960s London. But, this really does scream Washington, DC just from the monetary looking title.
More train following than you can handle.
I hated that mission so much. About as much as the Vice City "Use RC chopper to blow up building" mission.
I hated that mission so much. About as much as the Vice City "Use RC chopper to blow up building" mission.
Zero.
That Zero mission where you defend his Satellites from RC planes with a mounted minigun was horrid. I had to use the blow up all cars cheat non-stop just to do the last half. Note that I was on console
Obligatory, this is 3 pages overdue:
I think a GTA set in the 70s could be really cool. Complete with Disco soundtrack and gaudy 70s fashion
