guys just noticed something in the trailer I'd grab a screenshot but don't have time atm, at 35 seconds in, the black guy in the white hoodie, when he's leaning against the poster the yellow colour "bleeds' onto his jacket, like you get with radiosity/indirect illumination (also happens in gta iv with icenhancer or a lot of ENB configs) It's subtle, but it's a nice touch.. part of what makes it look so much better than GTA IV in my opinion
You mean this? Well thank god it's not in D.C! [editline]2nd November 2011[/editline]
If Dogs are in this game, I don't approve if they can be shot or killed.
Then they won't be in the game if you put them in an environment where shit's going to happen.
Woah that theme is neat, I just laid down and spaced out to it, Reflecting on how far we've come. Shit's cash.
I wonder what excuse they'll have to separate the cities.
I wonder what excuse they'll have to separate the cities.
Earthquakes
Too many dogs in the city.
Well i've come to a resolution, I'm going to sit up all night and play GTAIII on my PS2 to commemmorate this.
I think it would of actually been cool to have a gta game based in washington
I think it would of actually been cool to have a gta game based in washington
Yeah, but I'll be happy with what I'm getting. This looks amazing.
Here's my theory on the story: It's Tommy, he leaves V.C. to escape from crime. Since real-estate was a big deal in the Vice City game, then it makes sense that it is still a big deal to Tommy the character. So what he does is invest big in real-estate. So big he is essentially putting up his fortune in investments, but when the housing bubble collapsed in 2007-2008, he lost everything. It's why he's turned back to a life of crime. Hell it makes some sense to me. I'm working off of just some basic ideas, but it's clear the financial crisis is a key theme in the game. Why would Tommy return to a life of crime if he's already rich and wants to get away from it. I say, he's forced back into it because he loses everything due to the financial crisis. I'm probably wrong though since I'm only basing this info off of a 1:30 trailer.
That's a cool theory.
listen, im not racist, but... i fucking hate mexicans cant believe gta hasnt just made a character creator yet (User was banned for this post ("Don't do this shit outside the GMF" - Autumn))
If Dogs are in this game, I don't approve if they can be shot or killed.
THOSE POOR VIRTUAL DOGS WHO AREN'T EVEN REAL WHO WILL THINK OF THEM???? shut up and grow some balls.
Something else I was thinking of in regards to the "Is it only Los Santos" debate: Some freeways are not numbered, yet we have two Interstate highways that are numbered. Interstate highways, which by definition, would have to traverse most of the state. We have two numbered Interstates so far. I-5 would be North/South (Los Santos to Las Venturas?) & I-2 would be East/West (Los Santos to San Fiero?) as well as unnumbered freeways. If it was just Los Santos, it wouldn't make sense to include the Interstate designations on only two freeways.
I want a lot more random events, such as the earlier suggestions of police kicking in doors etc. I would also like to see police arresting certain civilians randomly or perhaps a gang war opening up and the police showing up.
They could do a lot with random events. A burning car with firefighters hosing it down, SWAT Vans and officers surrounding a random building, an Ambulance departing from the Hospital, etc. Even have events with 2 points, maybe that Ambulance that leaves the Hospital heads over to the car fire to take away the injured driver.

Probably already posted, but the release for GTA 5 may be the 24th of May 2012. The song of the trailer, Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake, was released on May 24th, 1968 and there's this in the trailer:
Time to redownload Vice City and San Andreas for PC. (Vice City best GTA ok)
As someone mentioned earlier in the thread, if they actually do decide to add dogs, or animals in that case, it would be so fucking sweet to see Police dogs. Maybe getting 5-6 starts sends out the SWAT team but also equips normal police cruiser with an occaisonally dog. Having to run your tits away from the popo would be so much more intense if they let a hound on the loose after you. Killing them might be a problem with a few people though, but I mean, if you're alright with speeding down a highway and coming off into a crowd of bystanders, you should be alright with a few dogs being shot. It's a game after all. They definitely proved they could do animals in Red Dead, so I don't see why not. There was a dog in the trailer too.
Ever since James from Bully was brought up, I'm definitely thinking he's our mystery 3rd character. It seems like Bully was around the early-mid 90s, so he'd be around 25ish here, making him fit the bill perfectly. Bully and GTA do exist in the same universe, as Bullworth Academy was shown on TV in GTA4.
I'm thinking if they add dogs/other animals they'll leave the killing of them optional so people who don't want to kill them don't have to.
Peta will suicide bomb their offices.
The main character needs to be an Arab, we haven't played as an Arab yet.
The main character needs to be an Arab, we haven't played as an Arab yet.
That'd probably cause more of a shitstorm than it would be worth.
If Dogs are in this game, I don't approve if they can be shot or killed.
Are you retarded? Are you suggesting that dogs become bulletproof? [editline]3rd November 2011[/editline]
That'd probably cause more of a shitstorm than it would be worth.
Why? We've had Puerto Ricans, African Americans, Japanese (I think, never played CW). Is it really that big of a deal? I mean, what about Yusef?
Why? We've had Puerto Ricans, African Americans, Japanese (I think, never played CW). Is it really that big of a deal? I mean, what about Yusef?
Try imagining the reaction of the news media when they find out a major game allows people to take control of an Arab killing police officers by the truckload and causing all sorts of havoc.
Peta will suicide bomb their offices.
RDR had dogs you could kick and kill. No one said much about that.
The end of the trailer had a blimp, I'm calling right now a mission that involves blimp firefights over the city
If Dogs are in this game, I don't approve if they can be shot or killed.
Why the fuck does it matter?
