I was thinking of how the character was talking about a family and how that could work into the story. Like if his criminal past catches up with him and he has to try and keep it all secret from his family, or if something happens to his family to thrust him back into a life of crime.
I wonder if they'll make it into an island like previous GTA or just cut off the map with impassable landscape like in Red Dead. I don't think this setting would work as an island.
Every GTA had the map on a seperate island so it's pretty obvious that's how it'll be this time.
I still my want countryside.
Aw I am disappointed that it will only be Los Santos, but was kinda expecting it.
Everyone who said it'd be LS only got rated dumb yesterday. I was kinda expecting LS only myself. If they give it the same kind of development that we saw in LC, I'll be happy.
Most of this is bullshit, but they are definitely onto something with the recession theme. The theme is obviously money and they are showing the contrast between rich and poor in the trailer. There's not way that's just a coincidence.
I don't see why their has to have such a theme, and why the game has to focus so much on social issues. I was saying this is another thread; why can't the plot actually be character based? It makes no sense for R* to focus so much on social commentary and lite-satire in the story one minute and then for the player to be rampaging through the city in a tank the next minute. Red Dead was still guilty of being preachy on subjects like the rise of industry, genocide of natives, etc... But those issues were at least in the background to what was an actually impressive character drama, and it's why Red Dead is the only R* game to date where the ending was poignant and memorable. No GTA game so far would have been able to pull off what Red Dead did at the end with the farm missions, because GTA's plots lack any character and the protagonists are all ciphers. I hope R* changes this with GTAV.
A lil comparison I did for you guys
[t]http://peecee.dk/uploads/112011/gallery26.jpg[/t] [t]http://peecee.dk/uploads/112011/Capture2.PNG[/t]
Woah.
I hope they don't pepper the game with missions involving "drive this character as they get philosophical about something, shoot one guy and drive them back with more philosophical chat." I got really fed up of taxi-ing characters about even if some of the stuff they said was great.
A lil comparison I did for you guys Woah.
yeah that looks incredible
Honestly i loved GTA all series, but this? Looks like its a copy of Driver : San Francisco.. or maybe its just the trailer that showed the style of it.. But now... Battlefield 3 :D

Even though this will (presumably) be modern day, I hope they keep a lot of the feel of San Andreas's Los Santos. It would be cool to drive round in V and recognise stuff from San Andreas.

I wonder what they will do to grove street...
DLC in the form of flying a jet to Liberty City? that was a cool mission in SA.
I wonder what they will do to grove street...
I really hope we can go inside CJ's place to see that fucking awesome cat picture again.
What would be the point of that? The LS in GTASA felt really dull and didn't have much of an atmosphere.
What I mean is, it'll be cool to see CJ's house again, and Old Reece's barber shop, stuff like that. I don't want them to just straight up recreate modern day LA.
Last night I saw a dream where I watched the trailer of GTA V. Heh, can you believe that! So what's this thread all about- HOLY FUCKING SHIT
I want Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis 2

Speaking of grand theft auto, i recently came across a video i recorded of GTA 4 1 month after the release. skip to 1:45 for the good stuff. also yes, the quality is pretty crap since it was recorded from a xbox 360
I hope they've made more advances with the Euphoria engine, RDR had better Euphoria animations than GTA IV so this next version 'ought to be orgasmic.
I agree although Euphoria is actually a team of people I think, not an engine. RAGE is the engine, right? For IV at least, dunno about V yet.
Mute the trailer play this play both of them together ?????
I hope they have more chat radio stations, K-Chat and VCPR were hilarious
No blackjack and hookers? Aw ... :( It's good that there's a countryside but you only will have to enter it when you're told to, not anymore to get to the next big city. That's why I prefered San Andreas (and obviously because all three citys felt different). I'm working on a non-serious comparison trailer with a humorous touch. It's about how better everything looks, how similar those places look and how bigger it is. Look at these pictures: Notice the distance between this area and the skyscrapers! And you thought the Mount Chilliad was big! Trailer should be done in a day or two.
STRAIGHT OUTTA GANTON, CRAZY MUTHAFUCKA NAME MAD DOG.

No sense in doing that work twice. PM me if you want some help. I have locations in mind in SA for every spot of the V trailer. [editline]3rd November 2011[/editline] Although I intend mine to be very serious. So maybe not.
