I'm not very good with my San Andreas map, but will the country eg:Whetstone with all the quadbikes and buggies be in V?
I cant remember if it's a part of Los Santos or not, I was just having a ball speeding through the woods in a buggy and it'd look fantastic on the new engine.
Stop with the late posts.
They should be a bannable-offence. People are mind-lessly posting without taking time to read the thread.

Least now we know why we don't get life in jail for those 58 counts of murder
Really can't bother to look through thousands of new posts, have rockstar confirmed a PC version or anything or will it probably be ignored and then released 6 months - 1 year later?
Judging from the trailer though, it's probably coming out on the PC, it looked too good and ran way too smooth to be on either console.
What? I've seen much better looking games on both consoles.
Dude, for how much shit is being rendered it looks amazing, I'd like to see you try and render an entire city + cars + people at 30 FPS on a console without it looking like shit.
Rockstar couldn't figure out how to do it until now, look at GTA IV, it looked like a muddy gray pile of ass and ran slow as hell most of the time.
Doesn't render the entire city at once genius. No game does something that retarded. It only renders certain sections you are in and near, to the draw distance normally.
Plus if the resources are handled right, and the engine is optimized, it could easily render everything seen in the trailer at 30 FPS.
Watch the end of the trailer again, pretty much the entire city plus a lot of the land around it is rendered.
At exceptionally low LOD models, with either no, or very low resolutions textures thanks to mipmapping.
Basically, a 20 year old computer could probably render the geometry you are seeing in the distance. It won't have a major impact on performance.
Whatever.
The point I was trying to make was, for how much shit is on screen at one time it looks fine, definitely a hell of a lot better than GTA IV.
So rather than to actually try and debunk my point, you throw your shit out of the pram, rate me dumb and don't even concede on the argument. Backing out with the classic "oh shit I'm beat", "Whatever".
Classy.
I never denied it looked bad for how much they were rendering, I was just pointing out, consoles aren't majorly gimped machines that can barely compute simple multiplication. They are very powerful as long as the software is designed to allow that. Claiming they won't run the game well when we have not seen a single bit of actual information is a uneducated, dumb guess.
So - uh, since Rockstar said in one of their Q&As that the III Era is basically dead and the IV Era takes place in a different "world/universe" (whatever that means) does that mean V will follow suit and ignore the III and IV era?

Most likely. A few familiar locations will return, though.
This is worrying because if V is not significantly improved on IV (like IV did to III), I'm going to feel let down.
Anyone else hoping for K-DST to be one of the radio stations?

YES! And really, any music that is actually memorable.
When I think of San Andreas, I hear "...in the desert, on a horse with no name..."
When I think of GTA IV, I hear "...HEY COUSIN, DO YOU WANT TO GO BOWLING?"
I prefer the former.

Some members at the GTA Forums are desperately trying to find evidence to say it's the whole of San Andreas and are in complete denial it's only Los Santos.
C'mon people.
The whole trailer is just a pre-rendered cutscene.
Unlike in the previous GTA trailers, in this one we can clearly see, that the whole video cointains no gameplay footage. For example the walking people animations looks fake and not in game, just look at the animation of woman walking near the red car, the car getting away from police and the man running away from police, It's definitely not real. This is dissapointing and unproffesional for R* to do this. Also we can't see the true quality of game.
If you find atleast 1 scene that would look like gameplay scene, not pre-rendered, please post it in gif format.
Christ.
I get a good laugh browsing the forums. Some people have too much time on their hands.

I love how GTA has had such a huge impact on my music taste, I know a lot of the songs from GTA games by heart and love them all now. Before playing the games I had no clue about them.
I like hanging out at the audio options and listening to talk radio. :v:

The 80's music really changed my taste on music.
It was when song's didnt suck sky high like bieber and rebbeca black.
Someone post a youtube video of a great 80's GTA song.
replaying gta 3, it's so fucking frustrating playing it with a ps3 controller (using that through my laptop)
the over-all control scheme is shit, even after getting used to it.
All I want is the ability to move my camera around, and be able to lock onto people properly like in gta san andreas :(
up to the yakuza missions, second island.. some of them are extremely frustrating

I still remember the struggles in having to control a Dodo in GTA III, ugh. Don't know about the console versions, but on the PC version they were a pain to use for me personally.
I'm currently playing through GTA III. 8-Ball got shot in the head in 2 seconds when I was trying to cover him. >:l

yeah only reason i'm opting for the ps3 controller is because i'm running it on my laptop (well, notebook) but fuck I also remember how hard the dodo was to control.

shoot two guys at the front, then blow up barrels etc. I had to do that mission twice for the same reason

I bet they didn't ask him to use it.
playing gta 3, just saw a punk beat up an old lady, so I ran his ass over in a land stalker.

But they did credit him.
