Optimism has no limits for me
I will work for Stalker games, just because
I'm off to a decent start [sp]weight-wise[/sp] already!
Can anyone provide instructions on how to install Paradise Lost? I've tried the exe and the torrent files but none of them work.

Call of Pripyat Redux
Here it is!
Wow, that looks great and will probably bring a whole new tactical level into the firefights.

That, was just great. I was gettig tired of the fact that my character just takes out 30 bullets from a bullet box and loads them to the mag, and then attaches the mag to the gun in 0.5 seconds.
Realism doubles the fun.
I'd make love to Thorny's voice but then I'd be cheating on my armless waifu
That system looks pretty sweet, only thing I could nitpick about is that picking up mags might get annoying if you've only got one or two.

Your accent is awesome.
But that is fucking awesome.
thanks for the comments guys!
Oh god that is so awesome I can't wait to try it

OH WAIT I ALREADY DID. hehe
Damn, and I was expecting actually having to manually load them in like that one ShoC mod. If I had a link to it, I'd provide it, because putting bullets in a magazine one at a time during a firefight would be amazingly tense. Still, it's good though, at least now I won't have to load boxes into my Abakan.
rub it in some more why don't you ya filthy cat, poor people are already a bit excited

we're working on a full first person animation that will be optional if wanted, loading rounds one at a time.

I don't think loading bullets in into the magazine during a fire fight manually one by one translates well into a video game.

Ahh okay, that sounds interesting. I'll be awaiting with horror times when I have to manually reload a PKM ammo belt one by one :v: .
There's a question though : Why the player would drop the mags to the ground after reloading :
Maybe the player would put the mags into the inventory but they start falling to the ground after all mag "pouches" are full ?
The number of pouches would vary among the suits so you'd have more use for the strictly "combat oriented" suits besides providing bullet protection. Too bad the proper execution of the idea would probably require the game taking the more careful equipment management into consideration. I'll elaborate more in a sec.
[editline]hurp[/editline]
If S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 releases ever, here's some ideas on how GSC could potentially expand on item management :
Instead of a "suit", you will have camouflage that consists of upper and lower parts and headgear.
In the torso and legs, you'll have say, a flora pattern camouflage. They offer some concealment in forest areas but not much protection. However, on top of the camouflage, you can put various body armours and battle vests that offer different options in terms of support for shotgun bandoliers, magazine&gas mask pouches and grenade hooks. The idea behind the magazine pouches would be that you can reload individual magazines much faster when they're taken out of the pouch instead of awkwardly reaching into your rucksack.
Similarly, on the lower body you can attach pistol holsters, kneepads and different shoes such to provide better mobility / rupture / impact protection.
As per headgear goes :
I loved how Call of Pripyat expanded the armour into a separate "headgear thing" (if only Major Degtaryev would ever use them, that is! Even the best of us will someday grow tired of watching his handsome face all day long ). However, I think if we're aiming towards a more "survival-oriented experience" it would need a little fine-tuning as well :
Make the default torch just that : A hand-held flashlight, requiring you to later buy a separate headlamp (which could be installed into helmets / work separately like silencers, either by upgrade or just attached to the,). That would make pistols more worthwile until you get a headlamp because one hand is occupied by the flashlight. And even after you get a headlamp, you would very much want to rather buy tactilol flashlight attachments to weapons instead because when using the headlamp, enemies would target your head more often.
In the Finnish army at least, we were trained to put empty mags in a dump pouch under all circumstances; though that's probably because the mags are more valuable than we are.
I don't know how the mag pouches in the new battle vest are but in the old one it was next to impossible to put the empty mags back in quickly unless jammed them in face down.
sorry, due to engine limitations, if you want to simulate individual magazines it has to be that way, or else it would just go into the inventory straight away and you'd have a magazine stack of 58 or w/e
I've been wondering about this for a while : Is it possible to add HUD elements in as upgrades to helmets ? Because if you're not going for the superminimum HUD like in the "old" Redux (it was great though), I think it'd be a neat idea that you'd have to pay for things like the Minimap / NPC counter (the latter is a retarded idea post-SoC anyway)
the bullet loading animation would only be done when you use the mag tool to load magazines from ammo boxes.
Usually soldiers use a tight belt or pouches in which they put empty, partially used and unused magazines. Dropping the magazines on the ground might be faster, but having to dig out magazines after or during combat is an even bigger distraction than putting them in another pouch.
If you ask me there should be two variants of reloading, one that's quicker but you drop the magazine and one that's slower but you keep the magazine.

No. It's because of dirt. Nobody wants you to appear in a firefight with a piece of useless junk on your hands when your weapon jammed. And it will jam if dirt makes it's way into the chamber. Same reason not to tie mags up 'CoD' way, when one's neck up, other's neck down. Hit the deck, reload - whoops, weapon's jammed.

Awesome video, glad to see there will be a choice between choosing to individually load or not.

I'm trying to reinforce the opinion on 'why place mags in inventory, not on the ground', shhh.
Also, you won't believe how many fucking idiots happen to be in Russian internet sector. I don't even know when it's joke or not. Consider it that I don't have a sense of humor. At all.
