Can I get a link to SGM? It sounds awesome, but I can't google links for it without them being detected as non-trustworthy sites.
Why were Alpha Squads put in in the first place? Surely the mod creator noticed their ridiculous skills?
So what MISERY files to I have to edit to not have to eat a 3rd world countries food supply?
Why were Alpha Squads put in in the first place? Surely the mod creator noticed their ridiculous skills?
It's a Russian mod.
Why were Alpha Squads put in in the first place?
To provide some challenge and hostile-on-sight enemies that Call of Pripyat sorely lacks. I still prefer the mercenaries from Redux and Swartz but as far as I know only Swartz puts hostile mercs in Zaton.
i'm putting roaming mercs in zaton for redux v2.0 just so you know
Great to hear that. Also, I've been planning to ask someone who has experience with modding STALKER : Are the number of different "Factions" limited, as in could you theoretically have multiple "sub-factions" to differentiate for example Loner groups in the "Old" CoP maps (Zaton Jupiter and East Pripyat) and the loners in the southern Zone ?
i'm putting roaming mercs in zaton for redux v2.0 just so you know
Are they hostile, and how much of them are there?
It's a Russian mod.
Russians are fucking crazy FYI @throny Whohooooooo
Are they hostile, and how much of them are there?
Most likely, else there's no purpose.
How do you mod reputation in CoP? I can't work out what file I'm looking for.
How do you mod reputation in CoP? I can't work out what file I'm looking for.
You mean game_relations.ltx ?
Most likely, else there's no purpose.
Yup. I wonder if it would be possible to divide different factions into sub-groups to differentiate dudes like Hatchet's mercenaries and the randomly patrolling guys from each other. I hope that Pripyat will be Monolith country at least post-evacuation since you rarely see anything in Pripyat besides some rather static zombies sitting about.
Alright I edited my FOV and stamina in MISERY, but I'm clueless as to how to edit the food in take bullshit, so where my guy doesn't get hungry every 2 hours.
You mean game_relations.ltx ?
Quite possibly, let me have a look.
So what MISERY files to I have to edit to not have to eat a 3rd world countries food supply?
http://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-misery/features/faq-frequently-asked-questions Questions 18 and 19.
Alright I edited my FOV and stamina in MISERY, but I'm clueless as to how to edit the food in take bullshit, so where my guy doesn't get hungry every 2 hours.
After I uninstalled Misery and installed SGM back again it looks like my character suddenly has terrible vision.
How did you mannage to work out the -need to restart the game for scripts to load- problem ?
I didn't quite figure that out... the program kinda assumes you'll be playing STALKER maybe more than once a day, or some shit like that. I don't know lua nor do I do any scripting in STALKER but I'm thinking, if the game uses lua for scripts, surely it must be possible to implement an lua library that does web requests? Or does STALKER limit what you can do with lua? Meh, 99% most likely the latter.
i'm putting roaming mercs in zaton for redux v2.0 just so you know
You should make it so they aren't exactly actively hostile, but if you go near them they'll warn you and eventually start shooting. And maybe if you do something to upset them via a quest they could actively attack.

After the constant stream of bricks stopped, I realized it's a reference to the "Batya"-comic and thought it's pretty fucking cool. Actually, you play as Batya in the build, as it seems.
Batya? But his son never dressed up in a stalker suit. Having a mass grave of dried out corpses below the Limansk Bridge or a lone campfire occupied by Dad and his Son would be better. Also what was his reaction to you? Did he attacked?
I'm having difficulty installing CryZone 23. It does not load for me when I select it through "mods". I am using the Steam publication of Crysis. Am I missing something? I am putting it in the right directory.
I started playing clear sky today. I was instantly bombarded with 5 pda messages about defending and attacking. What's up with that, is it always this... crowded? Because I'm feeling like a courier always zipping around like that, not a stalker.
What's up with that, is it always this... crowded? Because I'm feeling like a courier always zipping around like that, not a stalker.
The swamps is your introduction to the "Faction Wars" mechanic but if you wish you can ignore most of it later on. However, you can farm money pretty easily by helping a faction ward off enemies from a location, then letting mutants / opposing faction kill them and then help capture it again.
You should make it so they aren't exactly actively hostile, but if you go near them they'll warn you and eventually start shooting. And maybe if you do something to upset them via a quest they could actively attack.
I think a better solution would be to have two or more different mercenary groups that have different behaviours. Some are relatively neutral-ish unless you cross them (like Hatchet's / Hook / Ridge's mercs) but then you got mercenaries that are really hostile to outsiders like Wolfhound's mercenaries. Having the mercenaries turn hostiles only when you're close by would mean that you could just out-snipe them from safe distances if you wanted to dispose of them. I would be interested seeing some hostile/unwelcoming "Loners" as well a bit like the "Bandit controversy" was planned in WotW. The guys up north are probably bitter to the military but I would assume that the ones around the South would be openly hostile to military dudes they're unfamiliar with.

Once you take over the swamps there will be much less radio spam.

Did he attacked?
Nope, he just sat there and did nothing. I know that he never dressed as a stalker, but that's the only logical conclusion since the character you play as is called "Batya" and that bloodsucker is in the basement of your house. Interestingly enough, I haven't found locations that were recycled from the regular games yet. Maybe that's just because the map is all fucked and shows wrong distances to the enemies and everything is covered with grass, so you can't see shit, yet all the NPCs have wall hacks... Kinda frustrating.
Fuck yes it worked, thanks man. But now I keep running out of memory and crashing. Happened 3 times in 30 min
Just try turning down textures, shadows, sun quality. I can tell you for a fact that putting "bcdedit /set increaseuserva 3072" into my command prompt (and restarting) fixed a lot of out of memory crashes in games for me. (Assuming you don't have 64bit.)

[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/ss_ludd_01-15-12_16-05-01_zaton.jpg[/img_thumb] BUT THIS. IS NOT. A GOD DAMN. TOOL KIT.
i'm putting roaming mercs in zaton for redux v2.0 just so you know
By the way, any ETA on 2.0? I want to play some CoP but there isn't any good mods for my tastes. Except Redux 1.0 but I've played CoP enough with it.
clearly you have no idea how to use a chicken
