[editline]15th January 2012[/editline]
IM GOIN OUT TO FIND MY STASH ITS BEEN GETTIN RAIDED BY ANOTHER MAN
Any tips for doing the measurements at Fen? I have CoP:Reloaded if that matters. I went through 500 or so 5.56 rounds out of Strelok's SG-550 and the squad keeps getting overrun by boar.
EDIT: i also need a link to SGM.
EDIT2: i found a link and installed, but i bluescreened on startup.
Well after following this guide, I get this crash on trying to load into the game:
Weird, it worked for me... What version of SoC you running?
My only advice atm is to go through the tutorial again. Be very careful and follow all steps to the best of your ability.

Yeah, I did that and it's working now.
Holy christ were you right about those puke looking textures, I went to the car park at the garbage and it looks like someone gave the ground a cosby sweater. And I am on dynamic lighting too.
Yeah... I can't remember if it looked that bad on vanilla SoC, but I just installed TFW a couple days ago, and TFW installs the exact same texture packs, and Cordon's ground pretty much looks like shit, when I clearly remember it didn't in vanilla Clear Sky.
On another note - anyone that plays TFW, do you guys have any suggestions on how I can make the game a bit more scarier/atmospheric? I.e. maybe I can edit an atmosfear file so that it rains more often, or maybe I can lower the number of squads so it's a lot more lonely... etc? I remember tweaking some of the TFW settings in-game but I'm still not scared shitless like I was in SoC and CoP.

CS wasn't really meant to scare you or being that alone, it was more about using teamwork and having squad-on-squad action. Man, I played the shit out of that game. Chasing Strelok and the battle for Limansk's bridge was some intense shit.
I don't have AA enabled.
I don't know then, I had the same glitch in CoP and that fixed it for me.

Yeah I could kind of tell it was less horror-oriented by the campaign and the faction wars. CS had some pretty hectic battles, I agree.

Grey is a very popular color in the zone.
Theres about 12 nimble wannabes on this ship alone.
Why do you have weapon stats display enabled. It is useless
It's on by default, odds are he doesn't know you can get rid of it.

I never bothered disabling it in the menu, doesn't bother me enough to do anything.

Get yourself some psychodelin, sheesh. Your blood is dirtier than Mississippi water.
Wait. So it's not just me, but the sights on the P220 suck for you guys too?
Wait. So it's not just me, but the sights on the P220 suck for you guys too?
IMHO most pistol sights suck. I wonder if it would be possible to add an improved sight as an attachment, similar to scopes.
I think the sig's sight is shit and the whole gun is ugly. I always use a modded akaban or AS VAL

IMO, ALL the sights in suck except for the AK 74's. They're actually pointed so you can use them effectively. Runner up is the VAL, but I get such a hard on from that gun that it may not be that the sights are actually good, its just me loving it so much.

If you want a more "lonely" Clear Sky freeplay experience why not check out PreSky ?'
I forgot how awesome the CNPP could be. I found a heavily radiated room, but it contained a stash which has an exo, 120 9X39, rounds, a few medkits, bandages, antirads, and a box full of decent/awesome artifacts. Granted it's from a mod, but still a nice surprise
If you mean the one in a "basement" on the first floor, at least the exoskeleton is in there in Vanilla as well.
How did all that Minecraft-Stalker dick size contest start anyway?
IIRC it's because Minecraft's popularity made S.T.A.L.K.E.R fall off the first page or something.
How did all that Minecraft-Stalker dick size contest start anyway?
Back in ye olde 2006 the first STALKER Megathread has been made. Since then STALKER thread popularity has been increasing so much on the forum that it eventually outgrew and outstrenghtened every other megathread, and it even got it's own forum when Clear Sky came out.
Minecraft started to become highly popular in 2010, making a lot of stalkers leave the thread and start posting in the Minecraft thread. Eventually the thread fell on the second page, causing mass hysteria and abandonment, that is, until STALKER 2 got announced, which made the thread stay on the bottom on the first page. When the phrase "We have a TV show, does Minecraft?" was chosen as the thread title it caused such massive butthurt among the MC players that, thanks to all the whining made by them in that very thread caused it to become popular again. Eventually Hezzy made the Minecraft forum to get rid of the unreadable cesspools that were the old MC megathreads, eliminating the stupid whinefest among the two groups once and for all.
fuck thorny initiate maximum fashion designer overdrive and finish redux 2
I CANNOT WAIT MUCH LONGER
[sp] Sorry if i'm coming off annoying, but i'm really fucking excited[/sp]
edit: Once I get to my 3000th post, I'm using it on this thread.
unless I forget, which would be catastrophic and would cause an emission that would wipe out the whole of Australia.
I've missed most of my thousandth posts but does it really matter when I have 13

I'd rather take an Unbanned Hezzy and the Whinefest.
Okay, I killed the Controller shitfest with a well-placed RPG rocket (which I have 57 in my box, mind you)
Now there's 17 burers.
Tell me what the fuck am I supposed to do here, if I try to knife them they rape me. If I try to RPG them they use gravityguard before the rocket hits. If I try to snipe them they rush me and still rape me.
If I try to avoid them my pride suffers as the most renown hunter of the Zone.

Bulldog?
I'm useless with an rpg, the only one I found I accidently shot it 5 ft away from me at a blood sucker, probably should sell it
You know, while reading the first few chapters of the Metro 2033 book I started thinking that all those guys in the Metro Megathread that brag about how the residents of the Metro are far more badass than the stalkers have no right to say such things. In the book they mention stalkers, people who's manliness is proportionate to those of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, and most of the residents, including Artyom, admire them and wish to become one of them.
Basically, if Strelok would accidentally a Space Anomaly and end up in the Moscow Metro, then proceed to encounter Artyom, he'd probably go "EEEEEEE!" the second Strelok would say that he's a stalker.
And Scar would probably make him pass out by staring at him for long enough.

Give it to a rookie stalker and follow them around. It should be hilarious when they spot a pack of dogs and pull out the RPG

Not only that but most of the people (besides maybe the army conscripts) are in the Zone willingly. They don't really have to be in the Zone but there they are, scrounging around for artifacts and even digging out old metal junk to find electronics from the Soviet times.
