What sound hardware are you using? I've just got Onboard Realtek audio
ASUS Xonar DG. I don't use "GX" mode or ALchemy (which wouldn't work in STALKER anyway, being an OpenAL game.)
Maybe I'm just lucky, or maybe it's the fact that I have this one openal32.dll that I drop into every openal game's folder to get surround sound/EAX working right. :v: (it seems to make my sound card take priority over "Generic Software" in the enumerator.)
The first day ended fairly well, Brothers. I have now returned to Pripyat after evading the dreaded Bugtrap and hit the bedroll at any given moment.

However, as I creep down the emptied out Lenin Avenue, still covered with the stench of gunpowder and rotten flesh, I ambush a lone stalker and find out it's no other than Petka Zhabchenkov, a Marked Stalker.

Grishko G. managed to hoard quite a bit of an asset from the fight. I hope it prooves valuable in the following days.

Moving on I finally reach the Academy(?) and Charon gives me an award. A seemingly petty award, but it's actually a sing of The Holy Monolith's incredible generousy, and shows how even the smallest of things can mean a lot to a Monolithian.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/n8yrx.jpg[/t]
After I conducted trade and fixed up my suit it was time to hit the bed. Quite an asset, the Monolith really thinks of me today.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/UL9eh.jpg[/t]
In the morning I recieve a new task from Charon: A squad of heretics has settled down within the Red Forest! It is incredibly absurd to let a group like that just waltz around like this is THEIR land! It is the land of The Monolith and us, The Monolith's Holy Warriors!
[t]http://i.imgur.com/sW3LH.jpg[/t]
I ran to Red Forest immidieatly. On my way there, I kill a Freedomer that took Daredevilness to the next level. It was Filya Borsa, a high-ranked Marked Freedomer.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/M9vja.jpg[/t]
I quickly move Westward to reach the heretic camp, they spot me, but the engagement goes smoothly and all the six heretics die out faster than a match.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/Iy2yT.jpg[/t]
While checking the bodies I found Vitalik Turk, a Marked Stalker. His death will sure be marked in Monolith's history.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/W1tSW.jpg[/t]
I recieve a report that Master, an incredibly famous, fear inducing heretic, has killed a patrol squad of ours within the Army Warehouses! I decide to change position and kill him. On my way there, I kill an ecologist that was creeping along the security fence. However, he was no ecologist.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/INGBg.jpg[/t]
On my way South I realize that one of the Converted has been seriously wounded. However, the laws of the Holy Monolith state that help can not be offered, except in combat against the heretics.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/nuE1c.jpg[/t]
I move on and take a small break to expel the burden that is radiation from within my body. I was hoping that when it is removed I will get to Master, but I was wrong.
He got to me.

It was truly a sucessful day today, Brothers, but only a half has passed, and there is much more to be done.

Also here's what The Atrium looks like with R1 lights enabled.

Althrough a little too bright, it's still better than no light being casted at all, a problem that plauges a large number of fireplaces throughout the maps.
I had the same thing. Go to gamedata\meshes\physics\, and remove the lights folder. That should fix it
Thanks, that fixed it. Was it an issue with the underground? I remember other mods having lighting problems with that.
Anyone have a good visual mods I can add on to Doom's mod?
Thanks, that fixed it. Was it an issue with the underground? I remember other mods having lighting problems with that.
No idea
Also I wish Stalkersoup didn't crash so much, it's a pretty fun mod

Autumn Aurora seems pretty decent :

My friend has this whiskey that has been standing opened in room temparature for several months.
Smells and tastes more like vinegar.
Pffft.
Been playing CS with TFW for the past two weeks. When I started the game up today, the entirity of the garbage depot (all of the NPC's) had teleported over to the flea market. :tinfoil:

It worries me that you know how it tastes.
Yeah, I can only edit textures. Sometimes the AMK forums has some cool models that I retexture but 90% of them look like shit.
They also have a habit of including and renaming textures that already exist in the vanilla DB, waste of space. They also almost never include proper bumpmaps, gah!
[editline]19th January 2012[/editline]
To elaborate (not my pictures):
The fuck is this, it's a shitty port not to mention unfitting and has no use in the zone.
This is better, but still no bumpmaps.
This is a good model, uses vanilla textures from default and doesn't include ugly stuff. To nitpick the new scarf he has on him is completely unnecessary because it doesn't add that much to the model and takes up texture space.
This is the guy I made my Duty retexture on, this is how every model should be, nothing crazy on him, fits in with the artstyle, and doesn't look like crap.
Where can I get these models?
Any way to change the UI in Doom's mod without fucking up everything? I tried one and it broke all the text. The ammo type is blocking my current ammo out of how much i have.
Is there a mod manager for SHOC because the last time I tried doing it manually shit got fucked up.
http://www.moddb.com/games/stalker/downloads/smart-mod-manager-11
I'm wondering if this works, because the last activity was around 2010 and the site looks rather shady. I'm running the steam version of the game if that makes any difference.

It works, but don't expect it to automagically work for every mod out there.
Why do you need a mod manager
All you need is right click > rename, using proper save names (AMK_save001 etc prefixes for different mods), and sometimes hispano patcher
No idea

Yeah, I really like the ballistics in it. I might die in a couple shots, but so do all the stalkers, military, etc. It's satisfying dropping a bandit from halfway across the garbage with 2-3 bullets.
I'm kind of confused as to where to go now though. I never got any jobs from Sid, there was just music playing and his door was locked. I'm headed back there now after going to the military base and realizing that I don't need to be there cause I don't have the mission from Sid. :v:

Did you do the cave?
The door is broken. I had to manually push it open, then prop a canister against it so it wouldn't close. Try running up against the side of the door where it opens, and push it open, that should work
Jesus christ, every single fucking scope texture in Misery looks fucking terrible, completely hideous
Then seanos vid comes to mind... it makes sense.
Nine months making loadscreens and a menu screen must be exhausting.
I loaded the savegame that let me skip the cave, so I started out in the village in one of the buildings.
yeah, I can't even get a toggle to open the door.

This crazy nigga right here, this guy.
He strolled on up to two bandits casually chatting by a fire in the swamp and shot an rpg at them, who says clear sky/dawn are a buncha eggheaded no guts nerds.
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/ss_ludd_01-19-12_19-36-23_jupiter.jpg[/img_thumb]
I TAKE BACK WHAT I SAID CLEAR SKY IS A BUNCH OF ASSHOLES
I really wish in TFW you could play as Monolith or the Military.

that's like 5 stalkers standing in the same spot looking right at the ground, they were quickly liberated

Download that, and then try to manually open the door again

Also I love how people soup has like 60% of my favorite music artists, shit is pretty rad
Finally got Stalker CoP to work. I bought it over a year ago on Steam, and it took so long to start that I thought it crashed. Today, I just said "stuff it, I'm bored, let's see if it loads" and left it for 20 minutes. It does load, and works, but it takes forever (at least 15 minutes to start the game from the menu). Even loading the ESC menu takes up to 30 seconds. Is there any reason for this? Any fix?
I have an AMD Athlon Quad Core with 4gb Ram with a 5770HD with 1gb VRAM running windows 7.

Thorny, did you by any chance work on SGM 2.1?

Is agroprom underground any different in Dooms Mod compared to SHoC?
Im not talking about the location itself, but are the things in there (Bandits, military, bloodsucker) any different?

"-If you're running Windows 7 and you've got really long load times, as well as a 10-second-ish freeze every time you hit esc to go to the menu, and you've got the Steam version of the game, the problem is that Steam is running in compatibility mode for windows Vista. I have no idea why it does this by default, but if you go into the shortcut and disable compatibility, STALKER: CoP will run perfectly. I was getting shit performance until I turned that off, and now I can max everything and still get a nice smooth framerate (except anti-aliasing, which for some reason causes the game to freeze on a black screen as soon as it starts if I enable it)."
