It's not exactly realistic, but it would lead to a longer difficulty curve, and bolt action rifles are just really, really satisfying in FPSs.

You'd be better off and far more effective by buying an AK variant with your pocket change or just taking your [url=http://stalker.wikia.com/wiki/Hunter]family hunting shotgun[/url] along into The Zone.
The only one that would work and make sense is the mosin nagant.

I'm not talking about MP-44s and PPSh-41s, but I'd like to see Nagants, SKSs, and similar, for a more post apocalypse feel.

I don't know about the "post-apocalypse"-thing but I do agree that it'd be good to have more non-automatics like rifles and shotguns even though S2 would be set once again near the center of the Zone where a lot of rookies shouldn't be able to travel to that easily. However, if S2 expands more on the different kinds of loners, I could easily see more hunting-oriented stalkers armed with rifles and shotguns instead of assault rifles.

So I'm playing Doom's mod for SoC as a merc, and I'm taking a look at the gear the trader at the mercenary base has for sale (Ara's his name, right?). All the sudden the trader pulls out his gun and runs outside. Just outside the fence he gets one-shotted by a rookie, in a leather jacket, with a sawn off shotgun. From 30 meters away. Long story short: Are there any other traders that aren't hostile to the mercenaries?

Killed duty off as well, and the rookie village. BUT FREEMAN IS STILL ELUDING ME, NOT FOR LONG.
Can someone tell me what files and variables I need to edit to fix the zombies noticing me in Uncle Yar's mission? Either that or revert them back to their original non-bulletsponge state?

We play as Mercs, and begin the hunt for Freeman, Ecologists (Scientists), Duty (Security), Freedom (Fighting Scientists?), Army (Black Ops), Zombified Stalkers (Headcrab Zombies), Loners (Civilians), Monolithians (Race X), Wishgranter (G-Man). That's all I got.
