Oblivion 2: Skyrim V6: Old People's Naked Bodies Fishing Secrets With Their Manly Beards
True, I would have liked to be able to choose my specialisations more than by selecting a race. I'd like the option to play an Orc mage or Redguard thief without being gimped.
That having been said, I find nothing more frustrating than a game that has the player skill themselves into a corner, where the only way out is to start a new character. In Skyrim, there's always a way to compensate for bad decisions that doesn't involve a restart or spending gold on hiring someone who is the very specific rock to the other guy's scissors. Plus there's less absurdly specific skills, albeit at the cost of some skills i'd like to see back.

And I highly doubt anyone who plays Call of Duty fanatically would even get past 10 minutes in Skyrim; saying it's dumbed down for them would be an insult to even the most brain-dead vegetable of a person.
I know someone who can't get past the first Draugrs in Bleak Falls Barrow.
I know someone who can't get past the first Draugrs in Bleak Falls Barrow.
What difficulty are they playing on, what kind of character are they playing as, and is it their first time with games in general, or just RPGs?
I'm tempted to just say "LOL what a noob", but I always find myself remembering that life is full of specialisations. An engineer might find Skyrim to be absolutely baffling, but I would find their job equally or more so.
I had originally planned on marrying an Argonian woman in Skyrim until I saw what they look like.

Yeah, uh, no thanks.
I wish the barmaid in Riften's inn wasn't already getting married to someone else, she looks so much cooler than any other female argonian that I've seen.

Use the console commands to add that argonian to marriable faction and then marry her ? (Would be a dick move, but still :v:)

When i first tried to pickpocket that bar guy in riften i though he had the actual white-gold tower or a cliff racer in his pocket, i then thought that that was stupid and talked to him about it.
I had hoped to be able to say "Is that the White-gold tower in your pocket or are you just happ to see me?"

Is it even out yet? I looked on the site but can't find anything.
Also these kinds of mods make me excited for what people will make for Skyrim, Nehrim was amazing as well.

I need to replay Oblivion. It had far better quests (even if the combat was a bit quirky), and you could put hundreds of hours into player made content.

What does it do exactly? the mod author is a baffoon and I can't figure out what its exactly going to do. I rather like my nice strolls through the woods and don't feel compelled to run into conflict at every step.
Is there a level cap? I'm level 31 and worried about running out of perks...

Basically some random mob spawns every now and then, depending on the plugin you choose. I run the normal version and I get an encounter every now and then, for example when I was strolling through the woods near Riften I encountered a couple of those tree things and some spiders fighting wolves.

level 50 is the level cap i think

Eighty-one.
I had an additional idea for my instruments mod. You need to level your music skill or there is a high chance of getting tomatoes hurled or even getting decapped. Start with small crowds such as skeevers or hunters and work your way up to the blue palace.

You can't get all the perks unless you change how many perks you get per level or add them through the console.

If we get a music mod any time soon, there had better be a mod with bigger crowds and better clapping sounds/animations.
Come on, bards college questline, at the burning thing.
I was expecting a bigass festival, not 5 dudes clapping at fire for 20 seconds.
Strolling around whiterun when this courier approaches me.
All the freedom to do whatever you want makes you feel restricted?
What
Honestly I'm having more fun in skyrim than in any other elder scrolls game I've played. But that's just me, the freedom that no classes provides lets me make up my own and stick to them without having to go through a shitty GUI at the beginning of the game where you don't always know how useful each skill is.
IMO the best way to "fix" the classless nature of the game that I might plan on modding in with a perk/skill rebalance mod would be to make it so the totally retarded "first perks" in the game were replaced with a "Major Skill" perk, with a max of 5 skills you you can perk into like this.
Bascally all that would happen is that the major skill perk would act as a "gate" to get to the other perks, while also making it so you learn the skill faster (i.e. have "major" skill perks level at the normal rate, while all other skills level 30% slower or something). At the same time, skills would be adjusted so the majority of the power in the skill is from the actual skill, not the perks, while the perks add utility, boons and usefullness to the skill.
In a sense, you have classes again. Because you can only have a max of 5 "major" skills, you can only perk into 5 different skills to specilize in. However at the same time you retain that level of freedom the vanilla system has, because you have quite a bit of time to decide on which skills you want to be major skills (up to level 5 where you get enough perk points for 5 skills, unless you buy "perks" from trainers which I think would be a good idea to do). And even then you can still level up skills that aren't major skills and be good in them, but the bonus perks behind them would be lost.
Maybe late game there could be a way to respec by removing your major perk from one skill to another, however I feel like if something like that is done then you wouldn't have your perk points you spent in a skill refunded. I dunno, just some idea's I've been having float around.
Here's my mod thread if anyone is interested:
