So I want to make a mage, what magic n shit should I focus on? I know I can't rely on destruction but that's about all of my knowledge about mages.
Everyone says destruction sucks, I disagree, it just requires you to work on enchanting and smithing as well. If you train smithing so you constantly have great heavy armour, then you can have heavy armour, an amulet and a ring, all enchanted with reduce casting cost enchantments, you end up being able to do sustained damage for a very long time, and in fact it's possible to stack it to equal 100% meaning you cast for free.
When you reach 100 enchanting (which is an important goal for a mage) you can get the perk which lets you enchant items with 2 enchantments. When this happens, you should use fortify health / fortify heavy armour enchantments with it.
This combination of smithing, enchanting and destruction essentially builds a mage-tank.
The hardest part about this is starting off, but later in the game you will be powerful.
Just so that I'm better informed can you be a Jarl?
I never played through the imperial/stormcloaks quest so I really don't know.
Wow fucking giants...
I spend about 15 minutes killing a Blood Dragon then as soon as I've collected the loot BAM dead! Ragequit

You should play STALKER, after a few hours you'll be pressing F5 every half minute.
You mean next Elder Scrolls game?
Yes I do. Sorry, made a mistake. :downs:
The hardest part about this is starting off, but later in the game you will be powerful.
I thought it was easy at first, but it became harder because you meet more powerful enemies which your spells almost are useless on, at least if you were dumb enough to only focus on destruction because if you add conjuration, you can just summon some atroach or daedra to kill everthing for you.
Okay now, you can be a Nightingale, a werewolf, a fucking Archmage but not a Jarl?
Shit.
I'd imagine being a Jarl would be like being a thane, except with a bigger house and more servants than just a housecarl.
I mean, all I want right now in Skyrim is a way for me to order people to do something, to command. I don't want people to GIVE me orders with my character as he is.

I don't think that would be possible without some pretty extensive modding.
Maybe it could have been cool if they included it, but if they did they would have made a big deal out of it and turned it into a big gameplay feature that you cant miss.
I love the way the Dark Elves look in this game:

It's a real throwback to Morrowind, you can even give them the Tribunal tattoo.
(but they have a severe lack of bulge, and I'm wondering if there's a correlation between this and Bethesda's choice to give them a few Japanese-esque hairstyles?)
That's a complaint I have about the armors in this game. There's very little aesthetic consistency between them, which makes switching to higher tier armor sets a bit shitty since you're basically ruining your character's 'look'. For example, Iron and Orcish look very rugged, and Steel and Steel Plate look more refined, but they still all share a rather 'dark age' aesthetic, but then Dwemer armor makes you look like a space marine, Ebony and Daedric make you look like you're from a JRPG, and let's not even begin about Dragonbone.
I don't understand the armor complaints this game is suddenly getting, especially since the first month of release people were oogling over it.
Elder scrolls games were ALWAYS done in this way. The standard "man-made" armors were ALWAYS different from the speciality "rare" high end ones in visual style. If you want a high level armor but want to pretend that you are not playing a fantasy game (lol) then just play with legendary steel plate - it's practically daedric anyways. Or live with the fact that an armor forged from the souls of demons isn't suiting to your character's playstyle, and deal with it.
Skyrim has some of the most diverse and cool looking armor in the series. It's the only game in the series that even bothers to have multiple types of Steel, Fur and Leather armors among one thing. And if you thought dwemer made you look "space marine", you've not even seen Morrowinds yet (which made you look like a robot with a skirt).
I don't know why people are coming into Elderscrolls/Skyrim and expecting an exact replica of something that would only show up in Mount and Blade or a hypothetical Game of Thrones video game. Skyrim may look more gritty, but that doesn't mean it still isn't a fantasy driven game.
Okay now, you can be a Nightingale, a werewolf, a fucking Archmage but not a Jarl?

Not like it'd affect much, people would just be like "sup, jarl" when you walk by.
I had expected you'd get to be Jarl of [sp]Windhelm/Solitude[/sp] at the end of the Civil War questline, but noooo.
Nitpicking sure is fun.
Indeed it is.

So as it turns out, I can indeed run Skyrim. Better than the 360 actually, which blew me away. I'm having too much fun messing with console commands.

Not pictured: Alduin flying overhead.
Time to backtrack to the OP and pick up some mods.
The game crashes on me every half hour without so much as a windows error report thing. I'm running on lowest settings and it doesn't seem to lag at all. Is this a common problem?

Specs?
Have you updated?
If you haven't, are you using Skyrim4GB?
Doors make me crash most of the time when they open, not level changer doors, all of them, even when NPCs use them.
Where are the screenshots of those cool looking dragons coming from? Oh and those people talking about dragons being too easy and falmer raping you in their loincloths, you've tried PISE and Deadly dragons right? I just started a new game with them and as far as I can tell it fixes what I think is the problem.
Oh and there's a mod that disables fast travel for the people that wanted it a few pages back, it requires script dragon though (there's no reason not to have script dragon).

Whiterun reminds me a lot of that one Rohan city in LOTR a lot.
I'm 99% sure that they took inspiration from that.
Finally found the Illusion spell "Invisibility".
It's not working. You use it and turn transparent, but enemies still see you as good as they could before.
Uhh.. it doesn't work if you're wearing heavy armor without high sneak skills/perk and heavy armor perk

Yes. Dragonsreach too.

I can't find the Nightingale Prime on the Nexus or it's creator. Was the account deleted?
Yes. Dragonsreach too.

Yeah they even took the Quest Marker from LotR

Conjuration.
Are there any master level spells at all? I find it odd that you can take perks for using less mana upon casting them, but I haven't come across any.
Okay now, you can be a Nightingale, a werewolf, a fucking Archmage but not a Jarl?

I don't think being a Jarl would be any fun, you'd have to just sit in your throne room day out and day in.
Dunmer are the most bad-ass IMO. Only issue is that they were mostly bad-ass in Morrowind. Then got turned into little girls in Oblivion, which made them just seem stupid to a lot of newbies to the series. So they don't quite have the bad-ass factor they did before.
I thought I made a pretty good job of Dunmner bad-assery. I always go Dunmer in TES games.
