Which side is better to join? Stormcloaks or The Empire?
i killed [sp]The Emperor[/sp] so I figured I best side with the stormcloaks. I even refused to be thanked in Ulfric's speech because I didn't feel right being called a hero as a khajit.
Enchanting 100 Iron Dagger 30pts Frost dmg 30pts Shock dmg 101 uses :v:
When I start the game, it says "Preparing to launch Skyrim..." in the steam box, and then it disappears, then reappears after a second, then disappears after a second... Goddammit, I didn't install any new mods or change the game between the last time I successfully started and now. Help?
I like how when you finish the main quest it doesn't roll the credits, it just lets you kerp on going.

I like the fact that there was a reference to Numinex in the game world, through it requires you to get a bit into the MQ first. Also, after you complete the stormcloaks quest line, will that Talos worshiper ever get his own temple or is it just one of the things which gets said, but never really happen? It kind of feels wrong when he still stays outside and yells about how the empire banned praying to him and all that.
I hate that [sp]at the portal to sovngarde, you just get swarmed by tons of enemies. Two fucking dragons at once is just taking the piss.[/sp] It's overdone in games and just stupid and irritating.
[sp]Kill the priest and get in the portal as fast as you can, you can apparently also sneak past him and get in the portal before he reach for the staff. I didn't provoke the dragons, I threw a fireball at one of them from below the "arena", but it just circled and fell asleep again.[/sp]
Before I get into a story, here's a few 'spot the thief' images. Both of them were ridiculously close calls when I fucked up. The first, I rounded a corner right into the bandit's face. I somehow managed to get away AND hide... right in front of him, essentially. The second, I didn't even see the bandit until he was nearly yelling at me. I dove behind the rocks right in front of him and somehow remained hidden. Now for the story... I did it. I really did it. I [sp]got into the Goldenglow Estate[/sp] and went through water no deeper than my ankles. Looking back, I really wish I documented it a bit better, because it was hell. The tension of sneaking through everything, remaining completely unseen. There were multiple times I heard "Huh, what was that?", only to immediately dive behind the closest rock before peeking out. Once I was in, though, the hard part was over and I actually thought to document some of the travels. I could not have been happier to be done with that mission. But doing it within my restrictions, and as I was instructed to... that's probably been the most fun I've actually had in Skyrim so far. If any of this is too spoiler-ific (other than the pictures, I'd rather keep them thumbs than have to link them), let me know and I'll spoiler it.
Speaking of that mission, does anyone know some good general ways to distract guards? I tend to use arrows, since the guards investigate the point of impact, but they spend too little time investigating it (not too much distance to shoot indoors) for me to get at whatever they're guarding. Had to leave a number of chests and nice things that they were guarding because they come back too quickly to their posts :/
Magic is so OP it's not even funny, early game focus on conjuration and some destruction then as you get better items transition to destruction. Get enchanting to 80, enchant 25% reduced destruction magicka cost. on 4 items, 3 is ok if you have archmage robes because they look fucking badass. Just dualcast all the timer, stagger enemies forever, good damage, AoE and no mana. The second I hit a dragon with my chain lightning it's basicly dead because it'll be staggered until it has no more HP.

I didn't get attacked at all, they just stared at me looking on their perch. It was kinda cool actually, as if they wanted me to try and stop Aludin.
If you sneak past him, you don't get the mask however.
That makes me wonder, do you get the amazingly powerful staff when you leave [sp]sovngarde (or Valhalla as I usually refer it to)[/sp]?
The fucking priest guy just instakills me every damn time, and I can't sneak by. I want to take it slow, but it's hard when two dragons are raping you constantly.
The fucking priest guy just instakills me every damn time, and I can't sneak by. I want to take it slow, but it's hard when two dragons are raping you constantly.
What's your level, and what do you primarily use as weapons?
What's your level, and what do you primarily use as weapons?
Level 17, and I use a mix between dual handed sword (Fine blades sword, does 21 damage)/axe (skyforge steel axe, also does 21) and sword/shield
From level 8 onwards I never had any problems with dragons being too hard for me.
From level 8 onwards I never had any problems with dragons being too hard for me.
Lucky you. The minute they use fire/frost breath, thats me fucked.
Put on a full suit of heavy armor complete with shield and a few enchantments and try it again, alternatively lower the difficulty a little.
So I married Muiri and moved her in to Proudspire Manor and she won't stop sleeping in the basement. I know she comes from Markarth but this takes 'make yourself feel at home' to another level. Plus I don't get the Lover's Comfort buff (not even a Werewolf).
Put on a full suit of heavy armor complete with shield and a few enchantments and try it again, alternatively lower the difficulty a little.
Fuck I didn't think about lowering the difficulty.
Lucky you. The minute they use fire/frost breath, thats me fucked.
Breath attacks will rape you unless you have a bunch of magic/damage type resist if you're not in cover.
Breath attacks will rape you unless you have a bunch of magic/damage type resist if you're not in cover.
Does cover help? It goes through walls for me.
When I was at the portal to [sp]Sovngarde I was level 50, so I was swarmed by more than 10 Draugr Deathlords (I'm not kidding), at the same time I was fighting the last one of the two dragons. It all felt a bit over the top, but it was still hilarious. However, I killed the dragon priest with only a few arrows (the first one obviously counted as a sneak arrow doing x3 damage). Anticlimax.[/sp]
