Acceleration Layer or Skyboost?
Both?
I nearly shit my pants when I tried to sleep in the game. The first time I tried to sleep I had just [sp]completed the mission where you kill Grelod the Kind. Suddenly, I'm fucking abducted in my sleep and taken to a back-ass shack somewhere in the hillbilly lands, or the swamps near Morthal for you normal people. Astrid freaked me the fuck out. I spent 15 minutes trying to decide who to kill and I finally made my choice. I killed Astrid. I was level fucking 11 at the time. I used all of my healthpotions, but it was worth it. Later on, a Legionare commander gave me the task to destroy the Dark Brotherhood. I went to their sanctuary, turned into a werewolf, and ate them all. Best crowning moment of awesomness in Skyrim.[/sp]
but [sp]dark brotherhood is the best faction quest in Skyrim[/sp]
Is there a guide up anywhere on how to get sexy screenshots without HUD and all that? Sorry if it's like the thousandth time it's been asked.
TM TFC 1
I took my first one-on-one fight with a dragon at level 5. I am not fucking kidding.
Aren't they level based? Like, as you become a higher level so do they?
guys i found a bug in skyrim also is it just me or does this image really look like morrowind [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/614973225666687549/3C3044C0E2B749D23ACA61F6C420F48F93612F8B/[/t]
Essential NPC ruins my character in this game, he raids camps and shit and its really annoying when they just sit down and rest for a moment then continue fighting me forever.
Essential NPC ruins my character in this game, he raids camps and shit and its really annoying when they just sit down and rest for a moment then continue fighting me forever.
There should be a enable/disable aspect to the essential characters. Like, after you complete their quest they become unessential. It ruins the whole idea of clearing out those Legion/Stormcloak camps when a Legate or Officer cannot be killed along with the other men.
Speaking of that mission, does anyone know some good general ways to distract guards? I tend to use arrows, since the guards investigate the point of impact, but they spend too little time investigating it (not too much distance to shoot indoors) for me to get at whatever they're guarding. Had to leave a number of chests and nice things that they were guarding because they come back too quickly to their posts :/
Reposting, because there has got to be another way to get past guards that doesn't involve invisibility potions (since invisibility does not allow you to interact with e.g. a chest without the effect being dispelled immediately)
I just don't like invisibility potions in general. Feels like cheating, much more fun to get through sneak missions just wearing normal clothing.
you all sound like pissy nitpickers in this thread, gotta say
I just don't like invisibility potions in general. Feels like cheating, much more fun to get through sneak missions just wearing normal clothing.
Uhh if it feels like cheating then maybe....don't use them ?
Uhh if it feels like cheating then maybe....don't use them ?
That's just what he said.
Both?
You can't use both at once
Huh, I borrowed my friend's copy of Morrowind, and it appears to missing something I think that should be quite important. I think it's scratched, because I can't actually damage enemies. Ok, I can attack. But after making myself invulnerable, using up 200 arrows, and beating around with my fists for 2 minutes, I think I can safely assume that, after the enemy, a goddamn rat, has not taken a single fucking hitpoint of damage, something is wrong.

Back in Oblivion. At the end after [sp]Martins random dragon thing, i decided to go and continue at the thieves guild. I was quite high up, best buds with the grey fox and destroyed my enemies with the enchanted sword chillrend i got from some guy.[/sp] Skip ahed to skyrim, while infiltrating M.F's place, i see said sword in a cabinet. I like to think i had a little somthing to do with that.

Best crowning moment of awesomness in Skyrim.[/sp] Also, one thing I wanted to mention is the "civil war" in Skyrim is pretty shit. Like the majority of the other sidequests, it's just a bunch of repetitive "kill teh bad guyz" quests and really doesn't have thought or strategy. I would've loved to see massive battles and sieges ala Whiterun, Whindhelm, or even like the Mount & Blade games. Big sprawling battles. It's just because it's too much for the engine to handle. Bethesda just put far too much time in making the game look purdy and making combat feel "better". They sacrificed interesting plots and characters for better mechanics, and I thought they were so close to finding a balance too. :(
The only thing I liked about the dark brotherhood in morrowind was the fact that it actually took some effort to find them, in skyrim, everyone seems to know they hide in some cave near falkreath and the entrance is obvious as fuck. It's easy as fuck to kill all the supposedly professional assassins. It's also beyond me why they send you in alone to kill them.
When I was fighting a Frost Troll, my companion Annekker or whatever her name is shot an arrow into the troll's knee. Where should I hide her body
The whole game I thought I had to put on Soul trap after the bodies had died. Then, 2 days after I completed the game and most side quests, I learnt u had to put it on BEFORE it died.
After New Vegas' successes I would think Bethesda would take a hint. Like the massively improved companion system and how you can kill everyone (Except for ONE person) and still finish the main quest. Also, improved moral and speech choices. You can talk yourself out of almost any fight.

So the dragon finally lands after about five minutes of kiting me with frost breath. I'm directly behind the dragon, presumably stabbing my sword right through his tail. All of a sudden, he flips in the blink of an eye (like within one fucking frame of animation) and chews me up and spits me out. CK come sooner so someone can make a 'better dragons' mod
The fact that you can't kill imperial officers after finishing the stormcloaks quest line is a bug in my eyes, a bug which should be fixed. Anyway, if you side with the empire, will you still be able to get the stormcloak officer armor?
I personally think the fact that Skyrim lets you destroy a faction is probably one of its best moments as a open-ended RPG. Depending on how you're role-playing your character, you can either join a faction and further their interests, or you can fight back and destroy them. The fact you couldn't do this with factions like the Thieves Guild is bloody infuriating. [editline]7th January 2012[/editline] I was fighting a dragon for like 10 minutes and was just about to kill it when it did a finishing move on me through a goddamn wall. I was behind the wall.
Games where NPCs can just decide to "finish move" you get annoying. I remember at the start of Skyrim I was doing some bandit bounty and the boss had a two-handed sword and would sometimes randomly finish me (even when I was full HP) and his power attacks would only do like 1/3 of my HP. Frustrating stuff.

I got so pissed off about it that I spent my current upgrade point to take the perk that let's me cut people's heads off. I went at him over and over until I cut his fucking head off.
