Oblivion 2: Skyrim V6: Old People's Naked Bodies Fishing Secrets With Their Manly Beards
Because a simple firearm (i.e a hand cannon) requires a team of two to achieve at best three shots per minute and is incredibly bulky. All early firearms would be pretty much useless in game due to the time it took to reload them. Flintlocks and wheel locks aren't simple, so they're out.
Also I feel like magic would somehow make firearms redundant, although I don't know how.
Also there's the point that as far as I know, a gunpowder like substance in any form doesn't exist. If it did, we'd be seeing simple explosives and combustion traps long before we ever see projectile weapons.
Edit: This explains everything

I always wondered what would happen if you struck two Welkynd stones together. I always wondered if it would lead the way towards that sort of stuff...
"Skyrim V7 - Old Women Never Die"
So how do weapon charges work?
I have a Dagger for soul trapping if the target dies 4 seconds after being hit with around 200 something charge, does that mean I can hit someone 200 times before it runs out?
Looks like there are two Vigilants of Stendarr Guild projects going on. I'll be looking forward to that. Also, am I the only one that wishes we had crossbows? I mean they were in Morrowind, so why not? They should take far longer then bows to reload and draw. Maybe 5 seconds, but ignore armor, as real crossbows are designed to.
They could be rare and uncraftable, as any sort of complex mechanism is beyond the skills of the average skyrim smith. Maybe a few parts can be salvaged from Dwarven machines and put together by a master smith with dwarven tools. They could give a warrior some ranged options without necessarily having to spec in archery, and give Rangers something with a high damage output without having to use poison or sneak attacks. I think it'd be a good idea.
I think they wouldn't fit the global atmosphere of Skyrim though. I can see crossbows in a marshlands/strange place like morrowind but in Skyrim, meh. Same for spears, really.

Plus, in a world like Tamriel there isn't really a point to having firearms, really. You can already shoot fireballs out of your hands and set up runes that set people on fire/freeze them to death, or even summon arrows and throw them at ultra-high velocity, so they don't need firearms.

As far as I know it only fills a Soul Gem (you need one in your inventory to capture the soul) and you can use these soul gems to either enchant weaponry or recharge your weapon (I think you just have to click them and it will refill your equiped weapon's enchantment, I never used enchanted weaponry without using tgm so I can't tell :v:)

yes, once it runs out you can recharge it with a soul stone and it fills it back up, allowing you to use it again.

Didn't Redguard have cannons? Or am I remembering that wrong.
Now that I think about it, didn't Tribunal have satchel charges? :v:
So I made a khajit. I'm not sure if I should make him similar to Puss in Boots, so specializing in speech and one-handed swords, or if I should make him a monk, specializing in restoration and wearing only robes, while also using two-handed battle staffs (I have weapons of the 3rd era installed)
Havent been updating myself the latest month or so, is the modtools out?

As far as I know there are only catapult or trebuchet like weapons on ships, launching large explosive fireballs. You witness an imperial navy ships power in a quest for the East Empire company in windhelm. The quest is called rising something I think. Now that I think about it, why the hell did an imperial navy ship dock at the port in Windhelm, THE Stormcloak stronghold, company business or not. Madness.
Also, whatever those Forsworn Briarhearts are on, I want some.

I did that quest.
It's pretty funny to be fighting some guy only to see him get hit by a fireball, which sends him flying off into the sunset.
How exactly does this [sp]Black Azura Star[/sp] work? Do I just do the regular soul gem procedures?
Anyone have any advice on how to control or predict when Sam whatzisface spawns in taverns for "A night to remember" I met him in riften but after a bit the game broke and when I went back he wasn't there.

The sneaky rascal (I'm in the middle of this quest now!)

Whatever town you were closest to when you turned level 14.
I hope there's a mod that adds more underwater content. There's the occasional treasure under water, but other than that there isn't much an Argonian can do with the underwater breathing ability.

Traveling by sea/river is often the fastest way to go.

But also the most uneventful
I like to keep my firearms and games with swords and magic separate.
What about Fable 2 and 3? It was really unrealistic with the less that 0.5 second reload on some higher tier firearms, but it looked really good.
Clockwork pistols and rifles could have been Dwemer technology for all that I know.
Histskin makes up for any weakness in underwater breathing. it's also useful in a few missions and you can travel by river which is nice.

Also PLEASE GOD NO. No firearms. It would sort of ruin the feel and atmosphere of the games.
Honestly, so would any DLC that lets you "rediscover" (read: use) Dwemer technology. The reason Dwemer stuff is so interesting is because they're gone and they were such an advanced race. Once it's all discovered and well-known, it won't be nearly as interesting or special.

Now we just need a sweetroll recipe and we're set
I really hate how you can't fight underwater anymore. Not even with bare fists as an argonian.
It was really fun in oblivion to dive in and start beating the fuck out of these slaughterfishes for some old fisherman who couldn't kill them anymore.

Made a new char, motherfucker just kept staring at me.
And .jpg rape.

I guess you're right. The 4th Era is too early for guns when I think about it. I guess the 4th Era would be around 16th century or so, right?
Yes, I am trying to go somewhere with this.

I don't know why they removed this. Certain weapons make sense but no weapons at all? Come on Bthesda what are you doing?

There were guns by the 1500s. I'd say its still early Middle Ages if Tamriel and real life were to be compared.

1500 would be around about the time of the renaissance, when printing press was invented and such. Skyrim still seems a little underdeveloped for that.

what the fuck
There were guns by the 1500s. I'd say its still early Middle Ages if Tamriel and real life were to be compared.
As is, it's way past early middle ages. Plate armour the way it is in game, even the fairly basic steel plate, wouldn't have been around until the 14th or 15th century. The game is clearly way too different from real life to compare the two on a similar timeline, so it's probably better if we don't try.

If you really want to compare it, any sort of elder scrolls game would fall under the dark ages, no matter what. People were uneducated, nobody kept records. The idea of magic came from the dark ages because everybody was too stupid to know better. Much of these times are a big blank spot in history. Guns came during the Renaissance Era, directly after the middle ages and so really wouldn't exist in any sort of elder scrolls game.
