Too bad it'll eat your performance by a lot. What was Bethesda thinking when they made their shadow technique? It's horrible. They should have used cascaded shadow maps instead.

A resolution of 8192 for the shadow is ridiculous. 4096 is bloatedly high as is.

Yes, but eventually you'll be tripping over soul stones and the enchantment that traps souls can be stuck on a dagger once you've discovered it. 30x backstab damage plus an enchanted dagger means endless souls to use

It could possibly be this. There are a few more including brorrowind and morrowind 2011 but I remember one particular overhaul that most of the facepunchers here recommend.

If the fps is bad, you can use these mods.
In Order:
[url]http://skse.silverlock.org/[/url] - Skyrim Script Extender. Needed for some mods.
[url]http://skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4387[/url] - runs off of SKSE for FPS gain. I can confirm this works. I gained about 5-10 fps in cpu heavy locations.
[url]http://skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5695[/url] - A background program that increases fps using the "Windows Media player trick" (I don't know what that is, but there is a link to it). It's also universal if you download the Full Package in Optional downloads. Again, I can confirm this works. Another 5-10 FPS gain in Skyrim.
I tried this with Crysis 2. I gained about 10 FPS in areas with a lot of action happening.

There is also this mod called Skyboost ([url]http://skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6058[/url]) I haven't used it, so I don't know if the FPS will gain or lose.

What Skyrim version are you using? Also, are you using 4gb Skyrim? I used to CTD because the graphical mods used up more than the max 2gb of ram Skyrim limits itself to.
If you have the latest version (1.3.10 i think) It doesn't need 4gb Skyrim because the update allowed Skyrim to use 4GB without the mod.
