Write a book about your fairy tales and sell it to kids. You also broke my quote, way to go.

Woops didnt notice that. I think that some other people can agree that there may be more meaning to this than just differnent models. I'm not saying that its possible that thats just the deal but i really dont think so
Did anyone else also notice the writing on one for the "bands" going around the hl2 advisor is gold?
You are looking for meaning where there is none. Write a book about your fairy tales and sell it to kids. You also broke my quote, way to go.
I think it's pretty obvious that both versions exist in the HL2 universe and that one is younger than the other. The one from HL2 is old, wrinkly, and has a lot more life support. The one from EP2 is smooth and agile. And then there's the obvious telltale sign from the Xbox 360 version: in the Xbox 360 version of HL2, they replaced any old models with the updated ones from EP2. Vortigaunts got smoother. Some characters were more defined. They didn't replace the Advisor, however. Look here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN-tJpWWUaw Go to the 7:57 mark to see it. Of course, they could have just not updated the Advisor model around EP1's time, but this is the Xbox 360 version and its model should've been updated.
The truth is in Episode Three.
The truth is in Episode Three.
Yea hopfully
The first model is a hl2 one. Valve improved the model in ep2.
Well considering how the combine have a advisor that looks like a frigging Brain bug..There is proabebly others out there JOIN THE FEDERATION TODAY
Well considering how the combine have a advisor that looks like a frigging Brain bug..There is proabebly others out there JOIN THE FEDERATION TODAY
Yeah i doubt that its just one advisor type because look at all the different combine types
Advisors are the real combine race. Those soldiers, metrocops etc are just their experiments. I am the chronos, lord of the time. Rate me clocks.
Metrocops are not altered humans.
Hmmm... I wonder if in EP3 we'll meet Advisor 314 URB-LOC 0017 again....
I think we will. In Episode 2, that crashed pod outside the barn is the exact same one holding Advisor 314 URB-LOC 0017 in the citadel in Episode 1, meaning the advisor in the barn was the same one you woke up with Alyx. In fact I have reason to believe that the advisor watching you through the missile doors of Silo 2 is also 314 URB-LOC 0017. It probably recognized Gordon from it's rude awakening in the Citadel and their encounter at the barn. My gut tells me that 314 URB-LOC 0017 is going to be a boss enemy that actively hunts for you in Episode 3 and tries to impede your progress and kill you, among other advisors. Probably to give players that unnerving feeling that something in the combine army really, really hates Gordon. EDIT: Wait this is a bumped thread. Ah whatever.
Metrocops are not altered humans.
Nice 3 year bump...
I still wonder if the advisors are the actual combine, or if they are just very high ranking.
Unused advisor "energy shield" particle effect: Looks pretty cool. Btw, why there isn't the "bad reading" rate anymore in FP?
Metrocops are not altered humans.
Metrocops aren't altered humans (most likely), but the Combine Overwatch soldiers are.
The EP2 advisors are young soldiers, while the fat HL2 ones are old general advisors, they recieve commands from Combine Boss
I don't see why this is any point of debate. The HL2 one clearly looks older, less combat-primed, and has some arcane-looking writing around the neck. It's clearly a leader on the home planet. The EP2 one is smaller, more mobile, and a sort of "field officer". Why's this disputed at all? It seems pretty obvious.
ep2 one is literally nothing but an updated model i thought everyone knew this
I thought this looks adorable: Little stub feet.
looks like a anthropomorphic caterpillar.
Wonder what they look liked before becoming all fat and tech-reliant.
Wonder what they look liked before becoming all fat and tech-reliant.
I always thought that they were just grubs of the adult advisors, which kinda makes sense if you consider the insectoid theme that seems to run with the synths. I suspect it might be something like cicadas, with the vast majority of their life being played out in the larval/nymph stage, with a relatively short period as a full adult, with this life cycle being massively long.
they all grow up and become nihilanth [editline]11th November 2012[/editline] yes
they all grow up and become nihilanth [editline]11th November 2012[/editline] yes
The Nihilanth in HL1 was last of his kind.
it was a joke in case i didn't make it too obvious

The earlier model has seams?
Problem is that the older model looks way better than the newer one, in my opinion.
