really like the sound of different coloured jetpack trails, not sure what else they could do though since you don't get to see much of the classes close up unless you play infiltrator/technician
IIRC, all the armors have effectively the same model with some changes to the belt. Customizable armor panels like in Halo Reach could be micro-transaction, additional paint colors (pay whatever dollars, unlock 1 paint scheme per side), et cetera.
they could go the tf2 route of ruining the look of the game with ski trails and effects but that would look pretty terrible
On the tf2 note they could sell variations of the default weapons for tokens. Yes it would have to be balanced really well, but they could easily do it.
Not my video - nerf tech please.
I usually top the scoreboard with technitian, and I've never played tribes before.
http://www.gamesradar.com/tribes-ascend-closed-beta-key-giveaway/ - They're still giving out keys. Just got one
http://www.gamesradar.com/tribes-ascend-closed-beta-key-giveaway/ - They're still giving out keys. Just got one
Sweet got one too. Thanks
Classic Spinfusor, fits the theme, no difference earns money. Everybody happy.
The Pathfinder spinfusor is pretty much the classic spinfusor.
too bad the pathfinder unlock forces you to pay up or spend like 500 hours to get enough tokens
The Pathfinder spinfusor is pretty much the classic spinfusor.
I mean super classic spinfusor, from tribes 1. With the beastly KER-CHANG sound effect. [editline]28th November 2011[/editline] also classic style armours
Well I played for a bit and it seems a lot like Battlefield in the sense that it's always one sided rape :/
Well I played for a bit and it seems a lot like Battlefield in the sense that it's always one sided rape :/
It is more just one side getting the people with additional classes that does it. The other classes are not unbalanced, it is just that having mainly one class makes your team a one trick pony. I find it does not happen to me all to often.
spinfusor in my heart i just want the pathfinder so i can move around faster AND get the more classical spinfusor
The Pathfinder and Juggernaut cost half as much to unlock.
doesnt change the fact that getting 40-100 tokens a game and one round usually takes 15-20 minutes, depending on the team ends up not being that worth it for a 7500 token pricetagged class. all 15k ones to 5000 and 7500 ones to 2000 and we have a deal, hi-rezcommandsomething for now i just want a fastpaced glidingaroundcool shooter. EDITINGGG id also like to add that my tokens part may not be 100% true as it also depends on how good you play. you gotta be your extremely-lucky best to get more than 60 tokens
Ugh I've had a key to this for so long but I can't install Hi-Command. It says it's already installed WHICH IS COMPLETELY FALSE. I had Global Agenda installed a while ago but that's it, and it's been uninstalled for a while.
Well you can try the classes out in a training room.
It's not the same though. You don't know how you like the character in combat, you don't know if you like in in a non controlled enviroment.
It's not the same though. You don't know how you like the character in combat, you don't know if you like in in a non controlled enviroment.
Well at least enemy turrets are up in training...
Just got in this beta after I signed up awhile ago. Time to play tribes again for the first time since I was like, 7.
I've played since Tribes 2, signed up twice for the beta, never got a email back. Shit makes me mad >:(
I've played since Tribes 2, signed up twice for the beta, never got a email back. Shit makes me mad >:(
I got a key for the beta, played a round, and then went to Tribes 2 to get the bad taste of terrible marketing strategy unbalancing and boring a game out of my mouth. By god if LoL makes it's money almost entirely off of skins that do nothing to the game, i'm sure that Hirez could do something similar.
Are there any remaining opportunities for getting a beta key? Can you really buy all the content in the game for a fixed $60 price?
There are like 18 classes in the game, each cost 15k tokens or 500 gold tokens. Purchasing the closed beta bundle for 30$ gives you 3000 tokens, boost(more tokens and xp per round) and VIP. You will only unlock them thought, class progress and unlocks comes from actually playing the classes. I've almost maxed out my technitian after like 5 days of CONSTANT playing 4-6 hours per day, so it takes a while. Purchasing the game also gives you 3 beta keys to hand out to friends, and I just got another bunch of beta keys after giving out those, I can probably give you one when I get home from school in like 12 hours. The free version is a good way to try out the game before you buy it in my opinion, just like in Global Agenda. Also it's a closed beta and they're doing critical changes all the time. The 15k to unlock a class is probably a subject to change, because it takes a while. Also I see a lot of butthurt nerdz getting their buttz hurtz because they think the closed beta is anywhere near a finished product and they treat it as such and get mad.

Not sure I understand the token system; so the $30 beta bundle lets you buy 6 out of 18 classes out right? Are classes fixed? Do they have unlocks within classes that you need too? So the full game technically costs $90?

If you were to buy the starter pack, only needing to unlock 4-5 classes in game is a lot more reasonable. However I'd definitely suggest waiting until you get to have a go at the game before buying. [editline]edit[/editline] Oh and the classes are fixed 'loadouts' that defines the armour type, weapons, and off-hand abilities/equipment.
This game is so awesome. I played Vengeance and Tribes 2 so much I'm a boss in this game Will the game be free to play or you gotta buy it? I'd prefer buy, if you'd get all the classes same time
If you're having trouble getting kills, grab a repair gun and guard the base. Not only will you support your team by keeping turrets active and that you will also learn to use the spinfusor in close quarters.
wish I had a key
wish I had a key
http://www.gamesradar.com/tribes-ascend-closed-beta-key-giveaway/ Go there.
I did before:
Sorry, there are no more keys available.
Did they increase the token income? I just got 200 in a game. Also if you get into the game, picking up the flag going 120 mph in a high tier game gives you a fucking adrenaline rush. I love it.
