Played about 4 rounds and impulse bought the Closed Beta Pre-Order pack. This is such a good game. It's a successor to the Tribes series in a more casual/modern way but it's still a total blast.

People who've bought the pre-order bundle and used the booster pack receive ridiculous amounts of tokens and experience. I've been able to already buy Jumper after my second day of playing from tokens alone, Pathfinder from gold on the first day, and just one thousand tokens away from another class. It's ridiculous how, with VIP and boost active at the same time, I essentially get 3x the tokens and XP than I would normally (without VIP; with VIP, which is permanently on, I make 1.5x the normal amount).

Also it's easy to get kills on any class, half the people playing seem to be completely new to the whole FPS genre let alone tribes.

Sounds like a personal problem, I have no issues determining where hills are.
If you guys are looking for a key just take a quick stop over to /v/ on 4chan and find there Tribes thread. They have people on there giving keys out by the dozen.
So I start playing and I see technicians everywhere and somebody spamming fractal grenades at the enemy base with a deployable resupply.
Bah, I hope the next patch improves this.

Fractal grenades are the most retarded thing I've ever seen. It's like 5 or so seconds of total area denial over a huge radius, shit gets impossible when they throw two or three down.

I like to annoy techs by keep shooting the deployable turrets from a distance, with a resupply next to me me ofc.
Gives the supression needed for a flag runner to do his thing
as for fractal grenades, they are easy to avoid since they dont activate that fast.
Having too much fun with this, best shooter of 2011 so far for me.

Easy to avoid? Maybe, but when there's a mobile resupply and a brute jumping up and down spamming them.

True, avoiding the spam can be tricky.
Do what i do, prioritise the mobile supplies, they get taken out pretty fast.

Well Hi-Rez has shown to be good so far when it comes to balancing. I will not be surprised to see a fractal nade nerf in a week or so.

Such a refreshing change of pace than move at 20 metres per minute shooters.
I got pathfinder 2 days ago and I'm loving it, I wish the shotgun was better though.
Really want to buy jumper, but holy fuck it takes way too long to get saved up for classes. Hardly over 2k and I've been play a shitload of matches a day for ~ a wek
