Bella Omega is easily my least favorite map, with Kabatic a close second. Sad really because Kabatic was my favorite map in Tribes 2. In Ascend both maps seem to exacerbate any skills differences between teams making the game feel more unfair than it really is; I can't explain why, it just seems to be that way.
I wish we could design our own maps.
So Katabatic was in Tribes 2! Funny because while I was playing on it on Ascend the other day I said to myself "you know there's something awfully familiar about this map.." I just had forgotten what it was called.
yay got an invite
also, are you supposed to get just 20 tokens for winning a match?
too low.
Thanks for the key Numpers.
I'm loving this so far even though I've only played a few rounds. It seems that there are only one or two Australian servers which is a pain because I join empty servers quite often. A server browser would be nice.

They want you to buy tokens or gold. It's pretty much a pay-to-win game.

lol no, once you unlock the class you want to play, you play it for a long time. and by the time you're tired of it you have 9k tokens again.
I think they should've given us one of each armor type instead of 2 medium types. A flag runner, all purpose medium, and defensive heavy would've made matches a lot less one sided.

Not true at all. I've played at least 20 matches and I'm bored as hell from using the second medium class (since the first one is just bollocks) and I have no were NEAR the amount of tokens to purchase any other class aside from that shitty heavy one.
This is pure ecstasy in video game form
my god it's like an entire game based on CS's surf maps :buddy:

I know and I loved surf maps.
Not exactly the most fun game on the planet. I realize it's still in beta, but it lacks a lot of the things that made the original T1 and T2 a success. Has anyone driven the tank yet? Dear god is that thing hard to control. I've yet to find a purpose for it.

Damage soak and high priority target essentially. As long as they're shooting at you, they're not hunting some other people.
That said for some reason I feel that the beagle team is always better.

It's how surf is meant to be!
Haha I like how the light spinfusor sounds like the one from the old games.
Of ALL the heavy classes that they make the cheapest...
WHY the juggernaut? It's hard as hell.
(For the record, ranger and soldier are easy as hell, so It would make sense for brute to be 900 tokens, right?)
I really miss games like this, where the skill ceiling is so high. Now a days everything is kept so easy.
Juggernaut isn't that hard, just stand next to the flag and nuke anyone trying to nab it.

Or you could one-shot cappers with 3+ second airtime mortar launches like a pro.
Held the flag as pathfinder for the seven minutes last game to give us the win. Going 225 never felt so good. I used the speed to ski off the one big mountain and on to the other.

I can't get the timing right with the mortar :/

Just need practice. I'm not as good as this guy yet, though:

Anyone else feel like Bella Omega is really shitty now? Base defense is impossible unless your team has 3 technicians defending the generator and one heavy defending the flag, and even so a pathfinder can easily grab the flag by going for it, flying up to the top of the tower area, then dropping down because theres so many slopes around the tower.
If you don't have technicians, then your base is uterally fucked as juggernauts will come from the sides of the map and go in through your vehicle base, and will spam endless mortars down there. If you go down to stop them, you'll take about 5 mortars to the face. If you leave them down there, then they camp your flag, specifically the upper section which is impossible to fight from if you're not at the top.

the stock classes are so fucking boring compared to this, I think I'm going to buy juggernaut now

I find that a technician and a jammer can do the job fairly well between the two of them. A extra Juggernaut or brute never goes amiss if the enemy starts showing up in more force. If you can keep the generator up, all it really takes is a doombringer with a force wall and a single technician to defend the flag.

I kind of like how the bases are so defenseless, it draws everyone out closer to midfield and its a nice change from the other maps.
I have been playing Soldier since i started, maybe lost a couple minutes on the PFinder the Juggernaut and another one that i can't recall right now.
After watching that video i think i'll practise with the Juggernaut, only 2 perks left on the soldier.
I'm fucking loving the jumper. I feel like rambo with those exploding arrows
Just got into the beta, and all of a sudden I remember why I was always Light Armor. I suck terribly as anything that moves slower than a million miles per hour.
Me using orbital strike for the first time, i get 10k credits in medals, and a ultra kill(5 kills)

I understand that someone would want the bases to have little defense unless you powerhouse it, but the map is designed so that your generator can not be up at all. Other maps? Defendable for about 2-3 minutes at a time, seems alright if you're defending because then you can kinda focus on the flag too. This map? Absolute hell, the generator room is a contest to see which heavy can spam more grenades down the pathways. Every match I have played on Bella since the patch has been this way. Last match I did was even worse, when a technician was placing turrets at our base. Why could he get over there and do it? Because defending the map is fucking useless so you might as well just go camp their flag room.
