I nabbed a blue plate special today, but I killed myself in the process :v:
I don't see how having to go from dead-on accuracy to having to adjust your aim for the enemy speed as well as your own is anything other than a downgrade. It was tricky enough as it was. The reason it was hitscan in the first place is because it doesn't do much damage, therefore it's a tad more reliable and easier to learn for than the spin fuser. It was a beginner weapon for a beginner class. But now since people were complaining about being killed by the things (somehow) it's pretty fucking useless.
It's a close to medium range weapon. It does huge amounts of damage once you get the aim on someone indoors.
Got a beta key from Jamie1992GSC. A true bro. Anyone can add me ingame. The name is Raizoh
Got a beta key from Jamie1992GSC. A true bro. Anyone can add me ingame. The name is Raizoh
No worries, hope you enjoy the game. :)
I am loving this game so much. I'm not fond of classes and buying loadouts, especially considering how flexible the game used to be, but the core mechanics and gameplay of the game are rock solid. Anyone else find the spinfusors (especially the light's) BRRVVVMMMMMMM therapeutic?
I'm getting more and more pissed at it, honestly. Mainly because I was really good when I got into the beta, but either everyone has become incredibly skilled at it or they've done something with class balance, but now I'm in the bottom 3 instead of top 3 most of my games. I don't get it. Maybe I just suck, or I should start using the thumper more.

Sometimes it's best to ignore the scoreboard and just do something fun. Personally, I don't mind going bad, and can still have fun. The only thing that gets me angry is supposedly cheap kills like getting sniped or backstabbed.

Someone's gonna say I have to be less predictable, well, going at 180km/h it's hard as fuck to change direction in any significant way, and when I slow down to make proper direction changes I become easier to hit for the sniper. Oh and getting killed by a god damn ranger at 2% HP with one thumper hit just makes my blood boil. Or getting killed by a heavy with a sabre launcher and then having the kid tell me how skilled he is in the chat. Or getting killed on the flag by a heavy who stands under the base and shoots the mortar at the flag for 5 straight minutes until someone comes to cap. Or carrying the flag for minutes, getting 2 kills while having the damn thing and then losing it because my team is too retarded to return theirs in that time. I could go on for hours, suddenly there's so much BS in this game that I don't see a reason to play this anymore. When I started playing the beta, I was playing soldier against soldiers, EVERYBODY was playing soldier, when I got killed I always felt like I was legitimately outplayed, and the things I just told simply did not happen. I want a game mode that just fucks classes and gives everyone a spinfusor and a grenade, then this game is fair and fun again. [editline]21st December 2011[/editline] And I thought this game would maybe attract an older, more seasoned audience of gamers instead of kids who ask "umad bro" on ingame chat. Yeah, I'm mad, bro. [editline]21st December 2011[/editline] It's even more enraging for me because when I started playing I felt like the game was the game I'd been waiting all these years to play, where it feels like I earned my kills and deserved my death, you wouldn't believe how enthusiastic I was during my first 3 days of play. I went top 3 or MVP every single game. Then I stop playing for 5 days and suddenly I'm going 1-12 against what seems like the assortion of every single demographic on the internet that I chose to avoid by having Facepunch as the only forum I visit on a regular basis. I'm serious. I've heard so much "umad bro" today on that game I went back to MW3. MW fucking 3.

Yeah, I'm mad, bro.
Remember that every single one of those strategies is open to you if you shell out a little money :v: Like I said, nearly all of those issues can be fixed by doing something else, though it may mean getting a crap score. Sniper issue? ski around the outside of the map, come up behind him and stab him - nothing is more satisfying. Juggernauts? Unfortunately it's more of a team issue if no one will kill a heavy that is camping out your base, but as soldier you should be able to take him out without too much trouble. Try equipping the bounty hunter perk, and you'll have so much credits to burn you can tactical strike anyone who gives you trouble. If all else fails just play tdm or rabbit :v:
I have Pathfinder, Jumper and Jug unlocked, I paid like 7 bucks for some gold. But then I realized Jumper is the weakest class in the game and can literally be killed in one hit by anything, and when you have 3 snipers around the base spamming their shit at you, there's no way in hell I am ever gonna cap a flag. And yeah Juggernauts are a team issue, especially if 5 of the enemy team are either Jugs or the guys with the Sabre, try getting a flag cap then. [editline]21st December 2011[/editline] And I don't want to go around spamming thumpers because I'll feel like the cheapest fuck on the planet. [editline]21st December 2011[/editline] Standing at my flag shooting Fusion Mortar for 5 minutes is not what I should be required to do just because those "tactics" are open to me either.
If there is a single person standing, or staying relatively still, an infiltrator with stickies are really good at taking them out. That is mainly what I use my one for. I have caused people to rage quit by focusing on them as infiltrator alone, or at least change their tactics.
New launcher coming soon, It's for games individually so there won't be tabs for GA and Smite, and now you log in in-game. The alpha for it is available in the beta forums, It's a sticky.
Damnit Fooje. Take all the flag caps while I try to eat lunch.
Damnit Fooje. Take all the flag caps while I try to eat lunch.
I'm like a Hawk baby, I swoop in and get those flags before anyone knows what hit them, unless I miss and hit a wall.
I'm like a Hawk baby, I swoop in and get those flags before anyone knows what hit them, unless I miss and hit a wall.
I saved your ass in the first game though. Jump on top of another Pathfinder and give him a blue plate to the top of his head. Just played a game on Bella-Whatever though where a team mate jumped on my head just before I got the flag and sent me straight down the conduit to die from fall damage.
drydock is the worst map ever made why would anyone think that would fit tribes
drydock is the worst map ever made why would anyone think that would fit tribes
The only parts I don't like are how steep the high side is and how you can go right around the outside of the cliff on the lower side.
Just won my team the game by scoring a quatra kill by dropping a 3.5k artillery strike on the flag as their entire team swooped in to grab it and win the game VS us. I'm not positive but I think it was a penta but it didn't count since I killed someone just before I cast artillery. It was nuts, I just kind of sat there in shock as kill after kill popped up from a cheap ass tactical strike LOL
I'm like a Hawk baby, I swoop in and get those flags before anyone knows what hit them, unless I miss and hit a wall.
Hitting a wall at 250km/h is not fun, I just wish it did damage to people too if you slammed into them
Hitting a wall at 250km/h is not fun, I just wish it did damage to people too if you slammed into them
It does, I killed someone by falling on them :v:
My thoughts on Bella Omega.
If I'm not mistaken isn't the back of the base more down hill now and less like a bowl? But yeah, the generator is terribly hard to defend.
I wish the devs would let us make our own maps, but as its F2P thats gone out the window.
My current issue with the map design is that many of the maps have a 2nd entrance to the generator room which makes it more easy for the enemy to get to your generator room THAN YOUR OWN BLOODY TEAM. Combine this with the fact that light turrets don't work when the generator is out, and that they removed ceiling and wall turrets from the game and you get a situation where the generator is almost never up due to being a infestation of enemies basically LIVING down there. And then combine that with turrets and generators that don't have shields and you essentially have a base that can be crippled by ONE light armored dude. Bases in Tribes 2 were fortresses which needed tactics and skill to invade. Anyone else remember those 10-man heavy 2-transport raids? Yeah, that's totally gone. Now it's just every man for himself.
Well I need to sleep somewhere! Another problem of a F2P game and modern shooter syndrome.
I never played Tribes 1 or 2 when they were THE game, I started with Vengeance, but I remember transport choppers were very handy, so hopefully they'll add some of those back in so we can get a similar situation to what you described Gold, and who knows, maybe they'll add some more turrets or some other kind of defense on the generator, like a trap door that covers most of an area bar one safe spot, and you can get kicked off there by a disc :v:

This is one of my biggest pet peeves about the game. I remember just how damn difficult it used to be to destroy base equipment and base assets in general. I don't like how simplified and sparse the base equipment has become. I just can't agree hard enough with those statements.
Gah, I just don't get it, sometimes my mouse feels really awkward, sometimes it feels perfect, and sometimes it just feels slightly messed up in a way that nags at me, and I can't figure out what it is I do the times that it works. I think it's just random.

Jim1 kept grabbing the flag whenever he person holding it died, and always ended up like this: [t]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/649874715318834203/B5C788F98FBC2DA51D36684DF71FC6A94FD98DED/[/t]
why does everyone act like blue plate special is such a big deal
BECAUSE IT IS MAN.... GEEZ
