Jesus christ the Juggernaut's Spinfusor MKD is ridiculous. It one hit kills lights with splash, one-hit kills mediums with a direct hit, and jars heavies around so much they can't fight back easily. The Fusion Mortar that comes with the class is so-so when outside, though.

Got key in email, went to download shitty launcher from no-name company. Computer freezes for a full minute, then says launcher could not be found. Repeats this as I re-download and try again. Check Program Files, half-installed launcher files that can't be deleted without permission.

just got in the beta yesterday. so far game looks pretty decent, it has the tribes 2 feeling to it.
only problem is.. i have skyrim, bf3 and mw3 and not enough time to play everything.

I think it is to be expected that tribes ascend will feel slightly different due to a new developer. From what I have heard so far about it, is that while it may not be tribes 2, it feels like a tribes game.

Tribes 1 player here. I've been playing for a few days... this game just feels so slow. Starting off in a fucking medium armor didn't help. Protip: nobody used medium armor for a reason. Lights are mobile and Heavies are tough, while Mediums just suck at both and don't even have the firepower to back it up (like they did in Tribes 1/2).
All in all I am extremely disappointed in this game. Looking at it objectively however, it isn't terrible, but with all the great games coming out now, I just don't see a reason to play it.

Well Hi-Rez has in the past radically changed game elements. I would not be the least surprised if the changed some game features between now and release. Especially considering it is a beta.

I went to the site and got the key, then I downloaded the Hi-Command thing, and right after that finished my power went out. The worse possible time for the power to go out. It scared the shit out of me. But now the powers back and I'm installing the game. :smile:

Ranger, Juggernaut, Scrambler or Raider.
Word of warning on the Scrambler and Raider: They're hard as fuck to use, but they absolutely rape if you have good aim. Scrambler has a 3-shot sticky grenade launcher (sticks to anything it touches) and a shitty little pistol, and the Raider has a 4 shot bouncing grenade launcher with a SMG. Scrambler is geared more for base rape, while the Raider is more of a generalist.
