I have the feeling that the only reason loads of people think the game is terrible is because of the awful engine and strict time limit Obsidian had to work with. Which is a shame, because it has some of the best writing I've seen in an RPG in the past decade, and some pretty good gameplay mechanics. It's just really buggy and feels unfinished as hell.

Either a cyber cafe hacked you or ur a lucky motherfucker. probably should tell em before they figure out that a cyber cafe isnt using any of its games though

The only problem I had with New Vegas was the shitty Gamebyro engine. The engine can burn in hell for all I care.

Almost all of the problems I had with New Vegas stemmed from the gamebryo engine. chunky movement, bad gunplay, awkward conversations and animations, and moments that would have been impressive on any other engine. Not to mention the fact that the strip was ten times smaller than it could have (and SHOULD have) been.

Eh, I don't think it was so much the movement that was the problem, it was more the animations that accompanied it. Especially the lack of diagonal walking animations, or the really bizarre way characters turn around when approaching you, or the way the animations just don't quite synchronize properly sometimes, so it seems like people are more "gliding" than they are walking, or any number of other little things that add up to create this "Uncanny Valley" atmosphere. That, and the game just generally looks pretty terrible by today's standards, especially with the abundant lack of dynamic shadows beyond character shadows and extremely strange and bright skin tones of characters and good lord I could go on forever about the ways the game just looks bad.
I don't really see the problem with the guns, though. Considering that it is meant more as an RPG than it is an FPS, and for that it's pretty good. Not the best, but I wouldn't call it bad, either.
