I got shot by a lagging skeleton, this pushed me into lava, and I was literally a step away from the water source. This way I lost a full iron set of armor and tools, a stack of iron, some diamonds and emeralds, 2 stacks of redstone and coal and baked potatoes. And fourty fucking levels of experience.

I'd recommend marked (as in labeled with signs), lighted posts in order to show where your borders start.

The idea is to have walls and towers and stuff wherever my borders touches land, I'm not sure how I will mark borders across water though.
