I'm not at the computer that has Minecraft installed on it(and the one I'm on now can't really run it at all), but in my travels I came across an area where the walls of a mountain had Red Stone(NOT Redstone). Could gather some of that, bake it to un-cobble it and use chiseled Red Stone for that house.
Bad news. The town on the modded server just got hit by a tornado. The extent of the damage is unclear because the server crashed immediately after I got sucked in :v:

Do I have to be whitelisted on the modded server if I'm whitelisted on the vanilla one?
I have yet to experience a tornado, but would building an underground bunker help? It sounds dumb, I know, but for all I know it could rip up blocks from the bottom of the map up and thus a bunker would be a deathtrap.

if you were whitelisted before the modded server went up (which I know you are), then you're already whitelisted

as far as I know, the tornadoes only lift blocks like sand, gravel, dirt, leaves, etc (non building materials in general)

tossing in some more progress again. not much has been done other than creating an infernal furnace, finishing(?) the fountain and Fhenxx's bulletin board. gonna replace the glowstone with redstone lamps later down the line, can't be bothered to hunt for more redstone right now.
I put a few stacks of the Red Rock I was talking about in a chest in the town. At some point I'll contribute a building or something to the town. I kinda screwed up in setting up magic by picking the 3 bases and now gotta figure out where boss monsters spawn for Infinity Orbs.

you need to summon the bosses. I'm not sure if you have to have the entry unlocked in the compendium to be able to summon them though

/respec says its an admin command. I actually saw it last night while I was reading up on Ars magica 2.

I know that a few people miss dynmap on the second server, and the reason I haven't added it so far is because I want an in-game alternative to it. found a cool mod which does the job

/respec still doesn't work. No need to knock yourself out trying to get it working for non admins, eventually I'll get things sorted on my own. Bosses might be out because either I'm doing something wrong or you need to have magic levels to be able to summon one(which honestly would make sense). I also have yet to find Infinity Orbs in dungeon chests.
Biggest happening was my cows either committed suicide or were murdered by a sheep. Before I logged out I went to check on the barn and found 2 sets of leather and beef pickups and a calf and the Sheep just milling around.

Seeing how the area around my house is being torn up either by players, weather or wandering ogres is actually pretty neat. I spotted a canyon I'm gonna check out in a bit that I probably wouldn't have noticed if the surrounding area wasn't like it was.

Just sort of got a little demotivated when I cane back after a weekend was over and no one worked on anything for the city

regarding the recent activity on the servers (which has been very low for the past month) I've been thinking about the VPS in general. I and mrmr pay $80 a month combined just to keep two very inactive servers running, where the modded one is mostly me playing alone. I personally see no reason to continue paying that much for a lot of unspent resources, so I'm considering to shut down the modded server to free up resources and allow me to downgrade server so it won't be such a big hole in our pockets.
I'll still think and discuss with mrmr about it all before making any decisions. if some of you really wants the modded server to stay up, then please, some more activity needs to be pouring in to justify the high cost it adds
