Woah
Okay now Nova is really full of himself. He's got the second highest post count overall too. Fuck you Nova. [editline]13th January 2012[/editline] Everyone on that list (except the mods and HarvesteR) should be banned.

[sp]but Nova's post count is kinda ridic[/sp] And fuck tim_barret
I wasn't exclusively refering to his postcount, he changed his tile to "The Man who named The Mun." That and recent posts are enough to ban for me.
I think it's funny how you guys (and you in particular MC3craze), has almost stopped playing the game, and all you seem to talk about in the thread nowadays is how much of a dick Nova appears to be, and how much you'd like to ban half the KSP forums. How about you just chill out?
So I WAS right and that Nova Silisko shithead was wrong. Unity DOES support multiple threads.
Nope. Only the most recent update added multi-threading, and I'm pretty sure I saw who you were in the thread. You looked like a shit-head there. :v: Though, NovaSilisko is a pretty cool guy, and makes mods and the such, but he's thinks of himself as being amazing. He makes copies of older threads on the basis that "the older version was shit, mines is better!" (his map thread...) and he always abandons his thread a short while later. He flames anybody who calls Kerbin "Kearth", or mixes his mod parts with other packs, or uses cheat parts for fun. He also seems to think his parts DESERVE to be in the game, and I recall him in the irc getting annoyed because HarvesteR didn't use his RCS model as the official one. He's a complete idiot at times too, who contradicts himself. I remember in the irc channel, Nova made a suggestion in the irc, that the engine exhausts in space should be different; yeah, that's great, I agree. He then goes on to say how the current one is unrealistic in space, also true. Then he says that there shouldn't be any effects in space at all. I disagree, saying it isn't the best from either a realism standpoint, or a gameplay one (you could accidentally thrust without realizing it), and suggest that instead of the normal effects, heatwaves should appear (which is both realistic; hot gasses come out of the engine, and good in gameplay, as you can judge thrust). Then, NovaSilisko starts flaming, calling me an idiot, and the such, and even when I get backed up by another guy or 2, still keeps going on. Also, he seems to know the basic facts of everything about the game, but not much about why, so spouts bullshit. An example was when he claimed that multi-body support wasn't in because "Unity doesn't support it". Which, is complete bullshit. If it couldn't support being acted on by more than one force at a time, atmospheric drag and engines wouldn't work. Unity does support it, but the real reason that multi-body wasn't in was mostly time-warp trouble, and especially when persistence comes, it would be much harder to save, and more CPU-unfriendly. But, enough of me ranting. It's just, people view him as the perfect angel of KSP, and because shout "HarvesteR is an asshole, he doesn't have Nova in his team yet!". These people seem to not actually read into what he does, or says, and takes it in as truth. I remember once, someone new mistook Nova as being part of the development team, and I corrected him, so NovaSilisko actually started complaining. Wow. EDIT: LarparNar, I still play it a lot, all the time, and I tend to download before any posts have even been made about a new version. But, NovaSilisko is a self-centered asshole. He complains about people ruining the forum by making copies of old threads... Wait, where did I hear about that before? Let's look up in my post:
He makes copies of older threads on the basis that "the older version was shit, mines is better!" (his map thread...)
Ah yes, I remember now. He complained about the KSP forums going to shit when HarvesteR left, and I noticed that most of it turned to shit because of his new threads, and him derailing topics because they are apparently stupid, and "gone to shit". He claims that he changed everything in the game, by making tiny suggestions. As far as I know, he's done NOTHING to change the mun. He took massive credit for himself because he told HarvesteR to make a tiny change to the time-warp (that it slowly increments), and claims he "fixed" timewarp and all this shit. Really, he is an asshole. EDIT: This post is a lot just for the people here who don't go on the KSP forums.

There has got to be a way to help this. But yes, I've had enough of this forum BS. Even though 99% of the time I bring it up.
There has got to be a way to help this.
I don't think posting about it here is part of the solution (if there even is one, because it seems that the more popular something gets, the more it attracts idiots).
The thread is real calm since we haven't had anything major happen. I've mastered the game at this point and have no idea what to do. But recently playing through ME2 and running around in BF3 has been a lot of fun. I'll give the game a break for a bit.

NovaSilisko, Tim_Barret, foamyesque... In the forum, I'm Causeless, if anyone was wondering. I've not seem many "idiot 13 year olds". Who are you referring to? There are a few morons though, but those who don't know much about the game and don't know what delta v is, ect, is understandable (not everyone is a rocket scientist). The real bad morons are the ones who make copies of old suggestion threads, with all the stuff inside being in the list of things to add to the game anyway.

And I know that NovaSilisko [del]is[/del] seems to be a self-centered asshole, which is half the reason I don't think we need to post about it here anymore. I think most of us know now.
Well, the new version does, depending of course on when you had this argument, you may have been wrong.
I believe Nova was actually correct, then.
I don't know about anything on the forums except mods are released there, it's a hellhole with bronies and idiots. My trick for not wanting to blow up everyone there is that (the last time I visited the forum was to download Down Under about two or three weeks ago and that was via Google.) you just shouldn't browse it at all Just don't browse if you're angry at everything there.
I've mastered the game at this point and have no idea what to do
Place a dummy module in Lünar orbit, land on the Mün with a lander, fly up into orbit again, dock with the dummy module, then return to earth. I've tried it before. It's really difficult and I haven't managed to do it yet.

Its going to be huge.

Lander will probably be a modified Altair. Either that or at least a 1.75m lander. Oh god the engineering wheels are spinning again. Must... model... in... Inventor...
Daym, I'm up for this now. I'VE GOT ALL NIGHT.
A few tips: Try to make it orbit as low as possible, without hitting anything. Make it big. Add that mod part which is basically a zero-strength SRB that lasts for ages. Also, do a full orbit while connected, so you know what the orbital period is, and when it passes overhead. EDIT: Holy shit guys, I just thought of the BEST CHALLENGE EVER for 0.14. I'll post a save file with some stranded Kerbals in munar orbit, and you have to get them back to Kerbin. By any means. Apparently 0.14 won't have docking, so you are going to need to make a weirdly-designed ship with a hold at the front so you can push the capsule.

I wish there was a way to start on the mun, maybe in future you could be able to set your launchpad anywhere on any body? I want to fuck around on the mun but I have trouble getting large payloads there :(
I love slamming landers into the surface of the Mun. They bounce so high.
I wish there was a way to start on the mun, maybe in future you could be able to set your launchpad anywhere on any body? I want to fuck around on the mun but I have trouble getting large payloads there :(
Use cheat parts to get there then.
I'm trying it now. I got into a nearly perfect circular orbit. I ejected my service module which will serve as my docking module, then I realized I forgot to put any SAS on the lander. This will be difficult.
Use cheat parts to get there then.
This is exactly how I test landers.
I also noticed that everything gets a brown tint when you press F2 to hide the HUD.\ And the lack of shadows on the dark side makes it really damn hard to land.
I also noticed that everything gets a brown tint when you press F2 to hide the HUD.
Looks more like it increases the contrast.
I also noticed that everything gets a brown tint when you press F2 to hide the HUD.\ And the lack of shadows on the dark side makes it really damn hard to land.
Looks more like the contrast is adjusted. The HUD is also bright so that influences it a bit.
Why would you get rid of your old avatar? not talking to you larpar, change to new taylor swift avatars as often as you like
Looks more like it increases the contrast.
It looks better in my opinion. Also, I don't use cheat parts when testing things. I check if it works on kerbin, and if it does, great, I've got a new lander! If it doesn't... hell, use it anyways. EDIT: It might be HDR. I think Unity added that.
