Now to put some SAS on my lander.
LarparNar, how dare you ninja the ninja master.
And by that, you mean quote master?
Why would you get rid of your old avatar?
not talking to you larpar, change to new taylor swift avatars as often as you like
Because I dunno.

And you're the automerge breaker.
And I still don't know what the buggery automerge is.
I posted this.

Now I posted again, but facepunch merged my two posts.
Getting ready to take off and attempt docking.

This time I have SAS.
[editline]edit[/editline]
And my RCS tank isn't actually an RCS tank.
[editline]edit[/editline]
I can see the Service Module way out in the distance.
Use cheat parts to get there then.
Is there any cheat parts that can be downloaded? I know of that UFO thing but that's really only capable of lifting itself. Also last time I tried editing the values of a part it exploded in a big way :v:
New page, I christen thee... JEBIDIAH

Uhh, I just edit a huge LFE to use no fuel.
So I'm too far ahead of the service module in orbit. How can I get closer without ruining my orbit?
[editline]edit[/editline]
Snapped a picture of the service module:

Damn man, you gotta record this!
EDIT: Pelf: higher orbits are slower ones. Just speed up you ship by around 10m/s, then wait, and when it's close enough, you'll be able just to use RCS to normally directly thrust there.
Ready to begin approach. Unfortunately, The RCS tank isn't actually an RCS tank so I'm stuck with my main engine for maneuvering.

Damn that service module looks cool, like some sort of flaming bird.
Well, I bumped into it and made it spin by accident. Then I hovered around it for a bit. I decided to warp quick and the service module disappeared:

That decoupler just spins around in circles as if it's attached to an invisible piece that's spinning really fast.
I consider it a success though. Time to return to Kerbin.
[editline]edit[/editline]
Nevermind, the service module just broke into pieces. Still going to return to Kerbin though.
I think i should join the kSp IRC. what is it?
I think i should join the kSp IRC. what is it?
IRC is basically a chatroom afaik.

Hey, happy birthday!

An IRC is basically a very basic chatroom hosted on a private server.
I was asking for the IRC address. but... i did it wrong.
what is the IRC address?

EDIT: Aww yeah guys, just reached solar escape with a reasonably small (relative to most solar escapers) ships. And, this is just my modified lunar ship, to take of the landing wings.
The trip is to get into orbit around Kerbin, then wait until you are on the opposite side of kerbin from the sun, so you are in darkness. Then, blast your engines. You might need to change when you begin, so that when you reach Kerbin escape, you are essentially going in a straight line from Kerbin relative to the sun, just going much faster. Then, if you can get to around 5 or 6 km/s, when you leave Kerbin, you will be in solar escape.
Full ship after liftoff:

A while later, starting burn to speed up and escape (around 2 fifths of this stage had already been used to enter and circularize orbit):

I'm hoping maybe this will inspire some other people to make logs of their flights and post them here on facepunch!
Edit: Don't complain about the large pictures. Large pictures are the true way to look at KSP!

Don't fly into the sun.
Don't fly into the sun.
I tried to do that, I was literally 0.0 m/s though. The game crashed.
Must not get distracted by KSP... Must finish Tyrannosaurus model...

Isn't it more efficient to slingshot off the sun? Hmmm I need to try this now :v:
Isn't it more efficient to slingshot off the sun? Hmmm I need to try this now :v:
No. You can only slingshot off of things that are moving, as the ship gets pulled by the object, however in KSP the sun is stationary. Slingshotting off the mun would be more efficient however than what I did, but it would be a pain in the ass to line up, and you would only get around a tiny amount of energy out of it (the mun only orbits at 520 or so m/s, and you can't harness all that power).
I recommend you orbit going right on the launchpad, as you can harness Kerbin's rotational power.
Oh, also, make sure that you speed up the correct way. Since Kerbin orbits at around 9000m/s around the sun, (and by extension, you), you have gotta make sure you add to that energy, instead of taking away from it.

Don't fly into the sun.
You can use F1 to take pictures, and F2 to turn of the HUD, by the way. it appears that you are using some sort of other way due to the borders around the pictures.
EDIT:
Most of these "slingshots" of the sun you've been hearing about are probably the game glitch where if you enter the sun, you go flying out at extreme speeds.
EDIT:
Wait holy shit this game has turned me into a rocket scientist
You make it sound like a bad thing.

Hmm, that's pretty cool

Time to make either a mun base, space station, or both. Or VTOL. Or maybe, I'll just explode. Exploding is fun.
We can finally make cubes!

This is what we need for the new update, or the update which will add docking clamps

This is an ARG by valve.
I can sense it.
Portal 3, incoming.
Okay, if I get a minute, I'll MS-Paint my interplanetary spacecraft.
Jesus, downloading from the Ksp site is so slow I'm getting 200kb/s max :suicide:
