Am I the only one who doesn't really like the whole "made from junk, held together by duck tape" mentality that people seem to have about the game?
Nova is a huge motherfucking drama queen. This guy's emotions are harder to understand than women. I think he's autistic.
Yeah, and it doesn't help that most people on the forums practically worship him like a god.
larparnar will you sleep with me
larparnar will you sleep with me
He's a guy.
There was a guy near me with a Facepunch sticker on his phone. About a foot shorter than me, I thought that might have been you.
Don't have any FP stickers sadly
Am I the only one who doesn't really like the whole "made from junk, held together by duck tape" mentality that people seem to have about the game?
It was funny the first time - the descriptions on the stock parts were fun. But now it's taken too far.
[t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13781308/KSP/screenshot28.png[/t] Capsule and its decoupler ingame. Now I just need to do some part.cfg tweaking and fix the render issue with the decoupler. Then it's on to the parachute and nosecone. Also, next on my to-do list is to make space station parts.
pssh. i am autistic and I am not like him :/ thus it is not and excuse.
Nova's an egotistical bastard. I don't browse the KSP forums unless they're linked, and wow.
reading me up some F-1 engine stuff. I wish there where pictures of the F-1a. I Like how they cooled the lower nozzle extension. lol. With pump exhaust :D
Nova is back on the KSP forums with some new parts. I actually like them http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=6257.0
The Munshot series is over, and Munshot-VII is the final landing. Jeb has decided to pull the plug on the project so we can go research bigger and better things. (We're going to fly into the Sun, or something.) Here's a look back on this humble series of Munar explorers (Some of which are re-enacted using the closest thing I could find to the original parts if I don't have any screenshots from the original launches): Munshot-I: Dec. 3rd thru Dec. 6th, 2011 -Mission: Fire a probe and sock that smug hunk of space dust right in the teeth. -Rocket: K-1 "Munshot" (K-1 was the rocket I was using before my attempts to land on the Mun.) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43321825/screenshot8.png -Result: Pow! Right in the kisser! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43321825/screenshot6%20%282%29.png http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43321825/screenshot7.png Munshot-II: Dec. 7th, 2011 -Mission: Launch three Kerbal heroes on a circum-munar flight. Try to figure out what the Mun is actually made of in preparation for landing. -Rocket: Munshot II (The K-1 was too unstable to support a crewed capsule. This is the first purpose-built Mun rocket I built, and it's ugly as original sin.) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43321825/screenshot8%20%282%29.png -Result: Hey baby! You lookin' fine, up close! Jeb was pretty bored on these flyby missions, but at least he got to adjust the throttle a bit here and there. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43321825/screenshot9.png http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43321825/screenshot10.png Munshot-III: Dec. 8th thru Dec. 23rd -Mission: Get our big boy pants on and land already. -Rocket: Munshot III (This version was built from Down Under parts that I no longer work on my PC.) -Result: Gentlemen, behold! This program was just beginning. Suddenly Jeb wanted to be on the Mun all the time, and would call the design team up in the middle of the night to make them build him a rocket in time for breakfast. http://i.imgur.com/LYJHa.jpg http://i.imgur.com/z8aJa.jpg Munshot-IV: Dec. 24th, 2011 thru Jan. 7th, 2012 -Mission: Continue landing on the Mun regularly despite using a less-sophisticated rocket and sometimes carrying a payload to Kerbin or Munar orbit. -Rocket: Munshot IIIKW (Identical in shape to Munshot III, but built from KW Challenger parts instead.) http://i.imgur.com/x6Unp.png -Result: Several satellites and a Kublab space station placed in orbit around the Mun, and plenty of experience landing spacecraft. Jeb got drunk one night and asked where all the challenge had gone. http://i.imgur.com/yrmuj.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UJZMF.png http://i.imgur.com/WQMTu.png Note: A mission named Munshot IVS was the final mission of that section of the program. It used a unique lander that involved RCS, for the first time in the program. It looked nearly exactly like a Munshot III lander, but had an extra set of RCS fuel tanks and thrusters. Munshot-V: Jan. 8th thru Jan. 18th, 2012 -Mission: Since Jeb no longer felt that the Mun missions were accomplishing anything daring, the design team duped him into accepting another string of missions based around a "dangerous new technology." RCS, first employed in Munshot-IV, would be experimented with. -Rocket: Munshot-IIIKW. No kidding, very reliable rocket. -Result: Many, many successful landings. The program had matured a great deal, and was now taking rocket-building quite seriously. The weight saved on these missions by switching to RCS tempted engineers to propose a "bare-bones" ideology, which Jeb supported because it sounded dangerous. http://i.imgur.com/JGw7q.jpg http://i.imgur.com/8iKWq.png Munshot-VI: Jan. 18th thru Jan. 19th, 2012 -Mission: Cut fuel consumption to minimum and stop waste. Produce a rocket that is smaller than the IIIKW that can meet the needs of a munar landing. -Rocket: Munshot-Ex1 http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43321825/screenshot4%20%282%29.png -Result: The rocket performed as expected, but was boring to fly for such an unusual design. Funding began to dry up, so the team downsized. Only two flights to the Mun were carried by the Ex1. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43321825/screenshot4.png Munshot-VII: Jan 20th thru Jan. 21st, 2012 -Mission: There wasn't enough money left in the budget for another Ex1 launch, and even Bob was beginning to complain about the smoothness and reliability of the craft. Drastic measures would have to be taken to solve both problems. The final launch of the program would need to be so light on fuel that even Jeb would hesitate before pushing the throttle. Once the first stage is spent during liftoff, the craft will have to move to Munar orbit, land, and return to Kerbin on RCS alone. -Rocket: Munshot-Ex2 (Basically, just the upper stage of the original Munshot-III, but with even less structural support and a stubbier faring.) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43321825/screenshot8%20%283%29.png -Result: One. Last. Time. The craft performed beautifully, and although Jeb had less time to work with engines with explosive potential, the riveting suspense of whether there would be enough RCS to return home kept him nicely entertained. Although the flight was a lot of fun, we all knew that the future of the program isn't in going smaller, it's in going bigger and bigger until our rockets break under their own weight. So, to say goodbye to the program at last, here is the final, solitary lander in the series, Munshot-VII. Lookin' hella tight as usual.
-The history of the Munshot series in stunning technicolour-
It needs to all be read with this in the background:
Also, having trouble with the failcan parts. Tried sticking the 9 engine mount on, added nine engines (pain), only to have it fall over on the pad. [editline]20th January 2012[/editline] Trying to get a probe into orbit with it. made the probe before, added failcan parts to make it go up. it go boom instead.
Sounds like you need this:
Linky: http://www.mediafire.com/?rkrctusna2kbak6

larparnar will you sleep with me
This is not what I was expecting to see when I woke up today.
if only I could get roll control and the rudders to work this would be doable :/ http://youtu.be/VvKH3foD5JI
Turn the Adv SAS values a lot down.
Not to derail this thread with more drama bullshit... http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=2925.660 Nova
Drop it.
^Responding to a legitimate reply regarding Nova insulting another user with no merit to do so. I just don't like how he throws his weight around and acts like a mod/admin... Speaking of which; has any user on FP become a mod yet, or signed up for the position? The mods on the KSP forums are utterly useless... Bickering with a troublemaker instead of removing their post or temp-banning them -- thus provoking even more drama...
Not heard anything yet, despite having, at least in my opinion, a pretty strong application.
We all hope for you, both for ourselves and the sake of the KSP forums. [editline]21st January 2012[/editline] For example: why do the mods on the forums not remove useless threads? I've seen some threads in the project & releases category with no parts at all, while they are supposed to make you think they have.
Damnit, the Kerpollo link appears to be broken.
Not heard anything yet, despite having, at least in my opinion, a pretty strong application.
You'd be a great candidate, you have past mod experience here.
Starting on some space station parts. If anyone is interested in texturing models for me, that would be great. I suck at texturing.
Starting on some space station parts. If anyone is interested in texturing models for me, that would be great. I suck at texturing.
I can texture for you, provided that texturing can be done in GIMP.
Starting on some space station parts. If anyone is interested in texturing models for me, that would be great. I suck at texturing.
I could Frankenstein some textures. [editline]21st January 2012[/editline]
I can texture for you, provided that texturing can be done in GIMP.
Texturing can be done is MSpaint, you'll be fine.
I could Frankenstein some textures. [editline]21st January 2012[/editline] Texturing can be done is MSpaint, you'll be fine.
Then shall we collab some shit up for our friend Pelf here?
Then shall we collab some shit up for our friend Pelf here?
Yes.
It's not working. I'll zip it up quick and upload that. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13781308/KSP/Capsule1.zip

Ugly lander, 0/10 wouldn't bang.
For the station parts, should I make handrails a separate part or make them part of the modules?
