Kerbal Space Program Kanuary Edition: von Braun ain't got nothing on this v2!

"The idea behind having such an engine in the game is that by the time you get it, you'll have pretty much mastered space flight, and you'll be more worried about what you'll do once you get there than about getting there in the first place. Using the warp drive won't be very easy though, as you'll still have to launch into orbit in the old-fashion way, and once at the destination, you'll still have to re-enter."
Yes I read this. still sounds dumb. I would rather build a huge thin gin orbit to get somewhere than a dumb jump engine.
They want to sell this as a game, not just as an orbit simulator. They really need to add something like that to keep people interested.
FTL drives are good, in my opinion. I mean, it'll be great when he implements other planets and galaxies.
also, it's probably an end game item.
Next update: Harv announces laser beams and dumb missiles.
Edit: It fires boxes!
If he wants to impermanent and FTL drive then it should be big, heavy, require multiple modules to be docked together to work.
Things such as massive radiator panels, some huge power source, massive nav computer, etc etc etc. launch them all and dock them to it in separate launches and then use it. other wise it is just another cheat engine.
Another vanilla cheat engine.
only way I would use them is the previously mentioned or if they had a minimum distance. like strictly for other galaxies or solar systems perhaps.
I think we need more planets or moons first before we start talking on the scale of galaxies.
Another solar system would be really fun (but really hard) to get to even without warp engines.
I'm perfectly fine with FTL being the primary way of interplanetary travel whereas orbital maneuvers are for traveling between closer celestial bodies like planets and their moons. Because to be honest, interplanetary travel is not very feasible in this game (right now at least), and I don't see KSP becoming a second Orbiter game with MFDs and alike.
Instead of warp speed they could enable even faster fast forward.
Speeding up time is as much cheating as a warp engine.

Well no, because when speeding up time you still need to use chemical engines to get the right velocity.
Needs a Tandem Mirror Engine before any 'Warp' engine...

Seems like that would be possible already to an extent.

And your ship parts still collide and explode if you speed up time too fast.

More due to floating-point errors than anything else, though.

So why is warpspeed a problem again?
So why is warpspeed a problem again?
The warp engine is apparently a problem because of it being a much easier way of gaining incredible speed, making the game too easy, whilst with the time speedup the ship is still moving at the same pace, you're just speeding up time so you don't have to wait.
I didn't say the warp engine was a problem, and I don't think it is if it is difficult enough to make / assemble / purchase / research. (When and if these things are implemented in the game).
I'm going to put up a pre-release for my station parts as soon as I get a couple miscellaneous parts textured.
Eagele or Saturn inspired stuff?
When, praytell, is this update coming?
If we knew, we'd tell you.
sometime after right now.
In 4 minutes :v:

Now with improved range!
[sp]Kill me it hurts to live ;_;[/sp]
I hate texturing so fucking much all my rage

Are you using blender?
Are you using blender?
Yes. But it isn't getting UV's or anything it's making the actual texture that pisses me off. I can never get it to look right.
already is one somewhere, saw pictures of it.
I'll be pre-ordering tomorrow
HOPEFULLY IT'LL WORK THIS TIME.
Nah. I like stuff that already did/might have/should have exsisted lol
