I think my AOM name is Nighture, I made it with a close time frame to making my fp account.

AOM is one of, if not the best RTS I've ever played.
Someone should arrange some games for people on fp. However, it never lets me log online through the game. If I want to play online with a friend I have to use gameranger.
I'm up for that if anyone else is, my AoM works fine online (must be rare huh) so I have no problems with it. Though we could always use something like gameranger need be.
I just made a map and I need 7 people to test it. (Just judging the eye candy, that's all)
7 people? good luck.
Titans= Tower defenses worst nightmare.

uh, I could try helping, but you may have better luck at the AoM heaven forums.

Forget it...the game somehow corrupted itself and I hate to reinstall it, losing the map in the process. :crying:

I don't think you'd have to lose your map, just check the game files for it.
It somehow survived. :buddy:
we should really get agame together
Loads of people play the game on Gameranger which is also a great way to play old games without all the hassles that come with them. It literally chucks you all into a lobby together.
Yeah, I use Gameranger to play Age of Empires: Rise of Rome online. It's so much less of a hassle than some other methods.
spose I take my multiplayer cd key for granted...
Psycho and I just played a game, we were on teams, but jesus he was still obliterating me
We're good for a game if anyone wants to join in, we use Gameranger, it'd have to be tommo though.

I remember taking down an enemy titan against the computer by attacking it with 40 archers, and running away whenever it came after me, when I was outside it's pursuit radius, I returned until it was dead.
The scenario editor seemed tough as hell at the time, but compared to AOE III, it was simple. I even remember downloading a mod for AOE III to make the editor act more like AOM's
I still love this game.
Updated the OP with more relevant information.
I'm making a scenario right now, and I'd gladly take ideas for one.
Heh, I literally JUST got back into this today, playing my first game agaisnt 7 moderates and horribly destroying them due to broken AI.
I can't believe the studio that was making this cancelled/got shut down/retired or w/e they did, when they had such a good game. I've been on and off playing this for 5 years.
Anyone remember the Sims maps in multiplayer? I always bough two properties and made a gazillion caravans and bought everyone else. It's been years since I played it, I'll look for the disc but I'm not liking my luck.

I've been playing these games for ten years.
TEN YEARS That's a god damn decade, and man does it make me feel old. I was really sad when Ensemble shut down. Halo Wars was actually kind of fun for an RTS on a console.
I wanted to say 10 years haha, it's right tho, it's gonna be 10 years old October 30th.
Goddamn, this game released when I was 5, and I've been playing it ever since then.
This game right here is an amazing way to teach kids history when they don't like it, Greek mythology is my favorite part of history thanks to this game.

Wow, just looked up Ensemble Studios and it turns out one of the heads made Robot entertainment which made Orcs must die 1 + 2, bit late, yeah I know, but I love both of those, nice to know why :V
I hope they decide to make another RTS.
Oh my god the Difficulty levels are god damn ridiculous!
Easy is way to easy, yet moderate is a lot too hard. Is there any mod to fix that?

I'm not sure, but the reason why that gap is so large is because Easy difficulty AI -never- attacks you. So you can't really lose.
While on the other hand Moderate AI actually tries to attack you, thus making losing a possibility.
Yeah, but for some reason the enemy send 5 groups of 9 soldiers and a powerful myth unit one by one with a delay of 30 seconds.

The waves they send are usually pretty small to start with, so you should be able to match their capacity if you can deal with their attempts.
Moderates force you to actually build military units earlier on in the game in order to prevent getting wiped.
I remember reading somewhere that some Austrians made their own AIs that had their own personalities. None could beat humans but when faced against other AI, the neurotic one always beat them fastest. (I want a copy of these AIs, would be fun to figure out which is which)
any one still play multiplayer? if so my gameranger is Mastfire
