you make me sound important
I'm not judging the tournament by any means but how come none of these tournaments require people to post screenshots of the games ending scoreboard? Ive had my fair share of tournament oriented gaming from years ago and they always enforced it judt for stat tracking and user interest and stuff
All games have been recorded (except the first one, but I think sprite has a twitch stream recording of it) and I'll be uploading them whenever I am able too (My upload speed is extremely slow as well.) If you want to see some games, show up for the live event by adding a person playing the match. I'm currently testing multiple-source streams to construct a more complex stream for semi-final and finals, I'm trying out live replays, multiple perspectives and stuff like that. But it's still very WIP (And in that understanding, is not confirmed.) My biggest issue is getting stuff like graphics for it. Something to look forward too, though!

It only costs upwards of 600 dollars!
no big deal jiggy jiggy
I have to register a business to do that. It only costs upwards of 600 dollars!
time to contact garry for official endorsement
We now have our own steam group, get this for automatic match and game announcements!
I really think you can register the tournament without being a registered business. I couldnt really find a lot of info on the topic, however I do know that there was a recent Bulgarian tournament where there were only about ~200-350 viewers at max ingame and the first place prize was 50 BGN(25 euros) and rare items. Second and third place only had rares for a prize. There is no way the guy(whom I know) spent 600$ for that. You can see it here: http://dota2.gamepedia.com/Bulgarian_Amateur_League_Season_One Also, you gotta note that FP has a LOT of good workshop contributers and I am 100% sure that someone would make some promotional items for us. We also have casters. I say, as soon as this season is over, just go for it.

I have to pay for the items to give away, etc. There is too much involved to be thinking about that for a looong time. I don't know how to sign-up without all of that, perhaps you could ask the guy you know?
Taking a look at the official sign up page ...I would reckon we should actually contact Garry or someone if we were to make this actually a Facepunch tournament. Otherwise, rename it or something. Plus, it'd require someone to go through all the rigmarole of setting up a ITIN, etc, all the kind of stuff Workshop contributors have to do.
...I would reckon we should actually contact Garry if we were to make this actually a Facepunch tournament.
I think this could work out. Garry gets money(a large share?), we get our own tournament. If we organize everything and propose to him our idea, there's little reason to decline it. Also, Garry is a cool guy, I think he'd understand.

I very much doubt Garry would accept this idea, and I think you guys are getting too far ahead of yourselves. Let's just enjoy a couple seasons first shall we?
i dont see why Garry would, i mean create a ticket system with an item - cough jethro pugna set cough -id buy it. anyway stranger tournaments are already in dota tv if its a problem with money try a kickstarter

Just making the league to have fun for now y'know? Time for serious stuff later, if you support the effort, join up next season or donate items now to make the next season even better.

i want to play sniper

This season is looking to be about five months including the tournament phase. I think there is loads of time to organise a bigger season/league for after that.
