No I'm just surprised how many people didn't like it that much
then again I haven't been following it, I didn't even know it was out when I got it :v:
Just saw it on the shelf, went "oh cool" and bought it.
-snip-
Well that's just cause they aren't use to a Lionhead game, and aren't use to this style of RPG.
I loved Fable 2, I mean yeah, there were flaws, but nothing that made the game bad.
Fable games would have been more favorably received if Peter Molyneux didn't always promise the world and then fail to deliver it.
He promoted Fable 1 by stating that, and I quote: "It's gonna be the best game ever."
Here are some features many of you might not know about that were promised to Fable 1:
-You could plant a tree and watch it grow in real time.
-You could cut down a tree.
-Armor and clothing would come in different sizes so you couldnt wear everything you found.
-Real aging not aging by level.
-If you killed some kids parents the kid would eventually grow up to try and hunt you down etc.
-Free roam, apparently one game tester got "lost in the woods for 15 minutes", supposedly on scale with Morrowind.
-Having to compete with other heroes around the world as well as villians (good/bad heroes more or less)
-If you were to clear a clearing next to a town of monsters or whatever, bandits might possibly move in and raid the town every once and a while for loots
-Become a Balverine.
-Ability to actually be a villain, as in join the bandits or dark side, not just do bad things and then finish the same story
-Ability to craft weapons and armor and color them yourself
-Gained "experience" by doing things, for example you actually built muscle from lifting heavy weapons, no stats so to say.
So maybe when you read all that and then finally have nothing of it in the final game, you can understand why many people were so upset with it. It's still good though, but not what it was promised to be. :frown:
I can understand that, I guess.
I never followed the hype on the first fable, I just thought it looked cool and picked it up, so I was unspoiled right from the start. When I heard Peter Molyneux tends to over hype things, I took all he said about Fable 2 with a grain of salt, and I loved it.
Hopefully, the same will happen here with Fable 3.
Well for some reason my third character can not open the Chest in the Chamber of Fate like my other two.
My game is being oddly glitchy, unfortunately.
Peter has a way with words.

I'm hoping for at least once the promises he has made for Fable III so far shall be in there.
Now that I think about, he hasn't said a lot other than what we already know is in the game, so maybe he already did.

I haven't seen much of anything pre-release for Fable 3. Information has been hard to come by.

Been working to get some of the achievements I previously missed in the game.
The Colourist achievement is actually really hard. What does it take to find a good guide for that one? I'm actually rather surprised how much new content I found while I was looking for those dyes. Also found a Reaver doll, not too shabby find!
Also, scored a new 107k highscore in Colosseum, not that it's any significance, but yeah.

I have yet to find a guide that goes into detail with The Colourist either.
There is a list of Fable III Achievements already, which I will probably put in the OP.

Thanks for the link!
You know, I wonder if they're ever gonna go further with the multiplayer aspect?
I was just walking around Bowerstone the other day and looked as the other players' orbs were passing by, and it didn't take me long to imagine everyone just running along as their own heroes doing their own stuff.
Not necessarily talking about like a MMO, but imagine a game where you could be like a barmaid, a street vendor or even a Hero, if you pursued that lifestyle. Each job has it's own stories and struggles you must go through, and when your character is old and experienced enough, you could choose to tutor newer people and help them out financially or otherwise. For example if some player has a problem getting money together to start his own business, you could give him some money to get started.
Imagine if you had your own store, where you could sell your custom made clothing or weapons to other people. This is already going to be happening in Fable 3 where you can sell your personally morphed weapons online.
There would be no ground rules. People would have to build their own economy and uphold the law. Remember, I was talking about Barmaids etc before, so some people could choose the town guard's job etc.
Food for thought anyway.
