Well no duh a company just bought it and is changing it what did you expect
Change isn't always a bad thing
Yeah, but it is when it changes something without saving the good out of the thing it changed.
http://www.buildandshoot.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=60
This might be promising.
Interesting that you posted that, I just started making models for them.
On the subject of gigantic change, I agree that the new game doesn't look terrible, I just wish they would call it something else so Ace of Spades could continue as is.
Yeah, but it is when it changes something without saving the good out of the thing it changed.
Well we don't really know how any of this will work until we get to play the game so we can't really criticize yet.
The change doesn't even look very good, who the hell asked for a watered down TF2 with destructible environments?
Well we don't really know how any of this will work until we get to play the game so we can't really criticize yet.
Good point. I just hope they'll include a WW1 gamemode, which would be essentially the old version.

If they added a ww1 gamemode which was basically 0.26 with matches that ended I'd buy 10 copies
But that really doesn't seem all that likely
It launches next week I guess.
Jagex has failed to produce its annual financial report nearly two months after the due date.
Words can't even describe how fucked the official game appears to be.

Abandon all hope.
I plan to buy it at release tomorrow, It looks like a fun game, however it's just not Ace of Spades. I'll update the OP with information, as well as link some alternatives to the steam version.
Why do you now become gravestones, that's awful in my opinion.
Why do you now become gravestones, that's awful in my opinion.
And then the gravestones explode, which means sniping people ontop of a building can do minor damage to the building itself or such. :v:
So they said Ace Of Spades would be free on their website. Today or yesterday they changed that.
Its now $7.99
It's live
My nostalgia glasses are pretty much gone :I
I really hope that some form of 'Classic' gamemode is introduced for all the veterans, and they allow skinning/modding to exist.
This is shit.
Is it actually that bad?
I feel like I may need to build a box fort, but if there's one good thing about this game, it's definitely the music.

Wrong thread, this isn't a team fortress 2 discussion.
oh wait...
We need to get a .26 facepunch server running.
I don't understand why in a world where multiplayer games are increasingly becoming f2p, jagex took a f2p game and made a $10 version.
I don't understand why in a world where multiplayer games are increasingly becoming f2p, jagex took a f2p game and made a $10 version.
Because it would take too much effort and infrastructure to add an item store or what not. Jagex is doing really bad atm.
I will admit, that one part where he built a whole wall at once was kind of cool, but I doubt building is very useful at all in this incarnation, and will probably just be ignored.
It looks like a convoluted 3d worms
Game is meh at best. It runs terribly on my computer, which runs TF2 just fine...
However

GREAT SUCCESS
This is actually one of the worst games i've played in the entire year. The only thing that this resembles of the older versions is the art style. It doesn't take a SINGLE good thing from that, i spent $10 assuming it would be an improved and refined version of the old ones. It's literally a gimmicky, laggy, rubber bandy, unbalanced class-based shooter that takes nothing of what was fun from the old one (building structures, blending in sniper hideouts into the side of hills so you can snipe like a sick assassin, tunnelling under the world to steal their flag and disappearing into the ground again, making FP symbol off in the corner of the map which you could see from the overhead view, etc. etc. etc.) and turned it in to what seems to try to be some sort of a terrible pre-made map TDM with unbalanced classes and useless weapons, jetpacks (where the fuck did this come from)
I strongly, strongly recommend anyone reading this and still thinking about buying it, DON'T

That isn't a bad thing at all
But yes the game sucks.
Anyway to try out the original game anymore? The videos of the WWI one interested me.
Hopefully they implement a way to ban classes, Rocketeer is just stupid.
Hopefully they implement a way to ban classes, Rocketeer is just stupid.
Who honestly thought that was a good idea.
AoS used to be a slow-paced game about building a line of defense to hide behind whilst the enemy did the exact same thing and you both just sat behind cover waiting for someone to peek his/her head up.
But thanks to the rocketeer that's completely obsolete because he'll just fly over to you before you've even started building and mow your entire team down. And then build a rocket turret in your spawn.
