Grab the super sniper rifle (forget the name), Bear Killer, or minigun. They make short work of the gunships.

Tons of loading screens and the difficulty spikes really prevented me from enjoying it.
But just starting this game and trying to figure out what the fuck is actually happening is half of the fun.
Maybe I'm not far enough in, but it's kinda offputting how there's so much buildup. So much reading and character management. Then you get in the level and just shoot everything in the face to win.

Turning the difficulty up helps a bit, but you're meant to be a ridiculous supersoldier with crazy powers so the average joes don't tend to stand much of a chance.
It does get harder as you go though, some enemies WILL fuck you up.
The ending to this game is really fucking bollocks, in my opinion.
I actually got in to a fight with an Interceptor last night that took twelve Bear Killer rounds and three casts of Triangle Gate. The damn thing was refusing to die.

[sp]Like I said I played it with 4 friends blind, and we were exploring the mines (it's actually a base not a spaceship) under the base and it was basically pitch black and from the darkness we see a figure moving after about 15 minutes of exploration with no enemies whatsoever so we're like oh shit what's that. Then the squad makes contact, all four of us are screaming because we have no idea what we're fighting but it's HUGE and it's FUCKING US UP so I just start unloading my autoshotgun and after a shitload of sustained fire from 4 guys whatever this fucking phantom is lets out a mighty roar and collapses and we're all sweating bullets at this stage.

There are seriously some things that under any circumstances make me laugh. Mostly "My legs are OK!" and "Z.O.B. 13!"
Especially, Zob. I just picture this heavily armored cyborg soldier samurai thing picking up a briefcase and exclaiming with glee "ZOB 13!"

You gain brozouf really has to be my favourite running gag.
I don't think brozouf is used anywhere else except for that pop up, pretty sure it's called [sp]cash[/sp] everywhere else
I like the graphics and gunplay, even if the story doesn't make any fucking sense at all. If there even is a story.

I need to try and organize a co-op run at some point with some friends who i bought this for Christmas. I got as far as Mars by myself, but my hacking skill was so low that hacking the computer or whatever just did not happen, and i never had a chance to come back to it.
Game also has a very satisfying Pump Action Shotgun.

32 shells of pure power with a surprisingly good range. The only thing that the game needs really is a knife, mainly because i can't stand Katanas.

Anyone know if there's any good custom maps to put on a server? I have a dedicated running (vancouver area) and the only maps I've been able to find online are farming ones

Was mentioned already, but is still funny. I always took it as it failed because it exploded them.
I think the "Bullshit! Ultra Failed Attack!" is equivalent to rolling a 1 in RPG terms. Some weapon/skill combos can still OHK some enemies, though.
