To be fair, calling it "cutting" implies something significant was already there - the VMF/MAP packs released imply they had nothing resembling the old storylines we all know and secretly crave. (The most significant showing they had that was substantially different from "contemporary" HL2 were e3_terminal and e3_industrial (and a few d1_... maps as well) - they're the last gasp of the "developed" C17 once planned.)
i'm waiting to make a project in source 2, but im worried about valve releasing full sdk for example hl3?
or will they release a shitty authoring tools?
They have stated to improve their tools.
I figure the next console generation would be the best time to release a new engine, since they can make it optimized for the greatly upgraded capabilities of the new consoles. This may be going out on quite a stretch, but it would also be a fairly good time to release steambox.

Aiming from the hip just feels so awkward when you do it all the time.
As long they don't neuter the hipfire to accommodate for ADS, it's fine imo.
With valve supporting oculus rift, i think aiming down sight is something that they will do.. imo

For viable hardocore stuff u need to keep a distance between your eyes and the screen.

If they include it for VR purposes, I'd just want it to be something you can do with the Hydra (like that mod). Being able to actually hold the gun up to look down the sights would be amazing (and all it requires is that the models have working sights). Having a button to just aim down the sights is just unnatural in a VR experience.

The Half-Life 2 VR mod actually does allow you to look down sights with the Hydra like you would aim a real gun.

I hope the Source 2 SDK will be Mac OS ready from the day it is released for modders who use Mac OS but have to switch to windows to use the source SDK!
I just hope it's not as bad as hammer...
