I searched for a fix and apparently it was to increase GPU voltage, that worked for a while, but it kept doing it further into the game rather than during the first mission in the sub.

I get the apprehension that was around back when I was in high school from 1994 - 1999 and the internet was new (to the general public) and scams were pretty convincing since noone really knew much about shopping online and were easily fooled, but now everything is online. How can your parents think that iTunes, Steam, Amazon etc are scams? I bet they still think the phone lines are manually connected by an operator, and when the phone line doesn't work, all they have to do is "flip a switch" at the exchange.
