So as a few of you who have seen me post before may know, I met my girlfriend, Krista, playing Dota 2.
We met in a pub match, added each other to Steam, and continued playing for a long time. We then branched out into other games, like Minecraft, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, and Borderlands 2. We had an absolute blast. Eventually, we decided to try our hand at internet dating, and one thing led to another. Eventually we ended up moving in together. It's been a while since then.
We are in Seattle right now, attending TI4. Since we met in Dota 2, I wanted to propose to her here. It would be symbolic, I suppose. But I didn't want to have it be a boring old proposal. I wanted it to be special. Prior to TI4, I tried contacting Valve to set something up. I emailed, called, and did everything I could but I could never get a response. I gave up after a few months and decided to wing it when I got there.
However, today, while attending TI4, I had a chance to talk to Kaci Aitchison. I filled her in on the details of what I wanted to do, and she was ecstatic. She was very excited to help me. She set me up with some people working in staff positions, and we laid down a plan.
Krista's favorite caster of all time is LD. She loves him so much, he favorited a Tweet of hers, and she almost had a panic attack (not really, but close). So I talked with both Kaci and LD for a while, and we set up a game plan. I was waiting off to the side of the main stage (the one with the aegis on it), and LD was going to walk onto the floor (we both have floor seats), find Krista, and surprise escort her to the area where I was. So he does, and Kaci and her whole camera crew is there. I give her my romantic speech with Kaci recording it, and I propose. Krista says yes, hugs both Kaci and LD, and hugs me. We then do an interview with Kaci about the proposal, and then they let us on our way, happily engaged.
I just want to shout out to Kaci, LD, and Kaci's wonderful camera crew. They are so nice, and LD is such an awesome guy. They helped me turn a mediocre proposal into something that was able to take her breath away, and I will never forget that. Both Kaci and LD are even more pleasant than they appear on camera, and I'm so grateful I had the chance to meet them. I literally cannot thank them enough.

Did anyone else feel like the All-stars match was slightly ruined with ferarri_430 playing serious the entire damn thing? I know there's been a shitstorm about the Abaddon pick being over-kill for a "fun" game.

slightly ruined is an understatement tbh. i know everyone hates techies but the all-star match should have been used as a showcase for his "talents"
instead it was 5v5 mid with everyone on radiant playing tanky heroes that probably wouldn't have died even if arteezy had a clue what he was doing on the hero

People take things differently I suppose. If I was just eliminated I would just want to fuck around so I don't have to think about just having lost.
