So what happened to this thread? I went to sleep after the finals ended.
Darude happened.
I just woke up. Apparently I fell asleep at my computer right before the Darude part started. :(
That's your body going into an emergency comatose state to save itself from Katie Kate
man i typed DARUDE PLEASE STOP COCKTEASING US and got banned for 600s ok chat???
Fyi, you got autobanned for typing in all caps (more than 10 characters of all caps = 10 min ban)
If someone finds a link to the complete afterparty vod please post it here, ty.
Is it me or does it feel like the afterparty got more pages of this thread dedicated to it than the finals?
does anyone know what Darude said about googling Rio de Janeiro something around 1:07:20 in this video? i really dig the music but i am unable to understand what hes saying
He spoke about a song his finnish friend made called rio de janiere and frankly there's no worse name for a song because you will probably never find it googling the name alone. [editline]22nd July 2014[/editline] Here you go. He may have used a Remix.
So, why Darude? How did he get chosen/end up here, again if anyone wants to remind? :v:
he has a song called sandstorm, which is a sand king ability or something?
he has a song called sandstorm, which is a sand king ability or something?
No yeah, that I do know, but was it a stretch goal? Community suggestion up-voted for random lulz, or something?
No yeah, that I do know, but was it a stretch goal? Community suggestion up-voted for random lulz, or something?
8.8 mil stretch goal Made a popular song in the '90s, became an internet superstar/meme, of course he is going to get invited. Also, a fun fact: He is Finnish and his real name is Ville Virtanen (almost like Bob Smith but Finnish)

Also, he didn't became that much of an internet superstar/meme until shit like Youtube was created though, and that was in 2005. It took 10 years for him to sell gold in the U.S too. But yeah, he's popular alright, apparently he has played at DreamHack too.
Sometime in the past year, a caster made the joke of comparing Sand King's sandstorm to Darude's song of the same name and made the sound 'dudududu' during the cast. I think it might have been Lysander. Anyways, you can imagine with how cancerous Twitch chat is it caught on and got spread to every other caster's Twitch chat and eventually became a request in every Dota stream to play the song (either as a joke, or serious). Essentially, a shitty joke turned into getting Darude's name known by pretty much every Dota player. Valve put the stretch goal in as a joke, but I think it's really fitting.

thanks again newbee for winning TI4 see you next year betfags
lol thats not how the meme started
Not talking about the meme, I'm talking how it got popular in Dota 2.
Sad that two whale hooks got you a whole load of shitty looking items except for the dragon totem and batrider armor
"We did it 9gag!" also I love how they censor "dudududud" now
What? Eeeeewww. Shit's supposed to be fun, might as well have no slow mode and no censorshit (it IS supposed to be 21+ after all...).
I wonder who's going to last hit this thread
Hi.
Sad that two whale hooks got you a whole load of shitty looking items except for the dragon totem and batrider armor
That Shagbark HUD is top-tier.
Sad that two whale hooks got you a whole load of shitty looking items except for the dragon totem and batrider armor
there's also screeauk's talon the idea is that the items still have a sellable value and that you can rebet them He also got the whalehooks back.
That Shagbark HUD is top-tier.
Not enough disagrees in the world to give you. Direstone HUD and Crystallized Mana HUD are top-tier Also venge is a fantastic hero, but her items leave a lot to be desired. Scree-auk(?) is only cool because of the effect, but not so much the actual look of the cosmetic
Scions of the Sky is the best HUD.
Scions of the Sky is the best HUD.
Ship them all you want man, that HUD is too bright Edit: Who am I kidding, HUD favorites are subjective. Enjoy what you want :v:
Ship them all you want man, that HUD is too bright Edit: Who am I kidding, HUD favorites are subjective. Enjoy what you want :v:
The same could be said for any cosmetic item.
I really like the Radiant Ore one, too bad I don't have it and have only used it once or twice. :v:
Sad that two whale hooks got you a whole load of shitty looking items except for the dragon totem and batrider armor
it's all about the actual item value not if it looks good or not [editline]22nd July 2014[/editline] not pictured: total worth of the items added together (~$60)
it's all about the actual item value not if it looks good or not [editline]22nd July 2014[/editline] not pictured: total worth of the items added together (~$60)
I'm aware of how betting works. I'm saying that for an approx. $60 value it looks like you got 1 awesome item, 1 cool one, one that's decent and then a mountain of shit commons that are maybe a dollar a piece

I'm saying that for an approx. $60 value it looks like you got 1 awesome item, 1 cool one, one that's decent and then a mountain of shit commons that are maybe a dollar a piece
That's because Dota 2 Lounge/CSGO Lounge's draft system tries to give you the highest value item it can find first. CSGO Lounge has used this system since its inception, but Dota 2 Lounge recently was converted to the same "value" system CSGO Lounge uses. Details on how it works on both sites is here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/dota2lounge/discussions/0/540742485409851046/
