Thinking about getting this. Not sure if it's worth it though.
Bought this just because it's been a while since I bought a game, and thought it looked interesting, so here's my thoughts.
The gameplay in terms of combat and classes is similar to TF2. Where it differs is the level design and use of range. The level design is closer to CSS or COD, with lots of different levels and sneaky places to shoot from. The combat is good at any range as well, with most classes having a good long range and short range attack.
I've seen a few balance issues so far, and a couple of bugs. Balance wise, Allies have fists, whilst Axis have dinosaurs and sword/knife things. I guess this is so Allies can't just shank up close range attacking dinosaurs, but as to why the Axis humans get a better melee as well, I'm not sure. Some of the classes seem a bit neglected as well, such as the Allies rocket launcher guy. He has no special, and his RPG is slow and more or less useless unless you're well protected by one of the classes with a faster firing gun.
A couple people have complained that Axis is OP, or Allies are OP, but judging by the fact I've seen both complained about I'd say the teams are pretty even. A lot of people complaining Axis are OP seem to get up close and kiss the Dinosaurs, so they got what was coming to them.
It's a good game, and certainly very entertaining. Whether it has the depth to be played for a long time, at the moment I'd say no, as there isn't alot of content. But more is due to be released, and it's source, so you know it'll be modded to hell and back.
Tl:Dr - Mostly well balanced game, funny as, low content atm but more to come and SDK out soon.

For some reason when I try to go to the server browser it just shows a big green box with no servers in it. Can someone post the IP's of the mostly full servers?

The devs said that a single player/coop campaign will be added in a later update.

Hah. How are they gonna pull that off, though, unless they make "post-T.Rex" maps? He won't fit into some of the current ones, I think.

Me and a friend were going to buy this, then I saw the WTF is... from Total Hailbut (two post up) and now I refuse to buy it because he seems to be complaining about the exact things that have been holding me back from buying it since day one.
this game pretty much relies on its gimmick
i want to compare it to the ship or bloody good time but both of those games were interesting and fun for a while
this game however doesn't look very appealing at all
i also believe that the community for this game will die off after a few weeks, just like the ship and bloody good time
Yet another half-assed game based around dinosaurs. This is why we can't have nice things. This is why games involving dinosaurs can't ever get anywhere, because the developers don't put any effort into them.
yeah a friend gifted it to me and it's pretty bad, it's pretty buggy and it crashes a lot, so does the servers
i only managed to play on 2 maps which were really dull
Looks like it would make a great source mod, but I'm not paying $20 for it.
I figured they rushed this quickly, I knew it was going to be bad.
For some reason all this makes me want to do is play The Ship again cause that was a good Indie game for source.
In its current state it's a buggy mess, and really should have spent a bit more time beta testing.
A few bugs I've found already include the raptor being able to enter the enemy spawn if it were to pounce someone in the doorway(I got lucky and did this on accident) and if timed correctly a thrown human can be jammed into the ground so that they're stuck until they're killed.
Fun concept, but those dinosaur animations :gonk:
Have they improved since the trailer in the OP?
All game have bugs... It's not really buggy compared to some game... Remember when you could buid infinite Sentry in TF2 or get in the ennemy spawn.
I really enjoy the game right now, and the devs will add new stuff such as dinosaurs and weapons.
I have fun, it is the essential.

So basically this game is pretty shit and not worth the money, they should have just made it free.
This game is absolutely TERRIBLE, honestly even if another 6 months of fixing and adding stuff, it's still 2 years behind schedule for a real polished game (not just a Poor Sourcemod that gone commercial).
It is horrendous how bad the animations are, raptors can jump between 10 people in a row with 1 hit kills quite easily. The actual controls and everything is just pure shit, how can they possibly charge?

Besides the devs CARE about what the community thinks and wants, I mean they post on SPUF nearly every day. They have so much things planned for this game.

I love how everyone is copying Total Biscuit's opinion which was flawed anyway. He complains about a games bugs when it's just come out of release.
I've been playing this quite a bit and I find it fun so I think it was worth the purchase.
Everyone seems to hate it for reasons unknown. The beta is a BETA for a goddamn reason (trust me when I say they've updated it alot after the beta) and it was just released, EVERYTHING has a shitload of glitches when it's just released. Besides TF2 was pretty bland when it was just released (surely the class roles were there and pretty noticable but cmon), and look at it now.
People will rush on the game when they'll do the TF2 cross-promotion. :downs:
If they keep updating this, release content updates and stuff maybe it could turn out a better game...
Ah well everyone can dream.
I'll be keeping my eye on this game, if the general opinion about it improves, I'll get it.
'Cause hell, it has shittons of potential.
